A Word From Our Chaplin Jesus set the example of service to others by washing the feet of his disciples. (John 13:14). He said that the blessed ones in the judgement would be those who had served others. (Matt. 25:34-36). The Civitan Creed says My Hands do the work of the world and reach out in service to others. Civitan is partner with the churches in caring for persons and the community. Civitan also does some things that churches may not see as their mission. One example is The Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham, Ala. The Center does research to treat and cure autism and other neurological ailments. Another example is the support Civitan provided for the park in Mauldin for Special Needs children. So why do we need churches and civic clubs? Because there are many great needs out there for anyone who is willing to serve others. Happy Birthday! Sam Bennett August 4 Lucinda Martin August 7 2
