The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? -- Psalm 27:1 -- Prayer requests: - Pray for a lady from the Koinonia church in Japan. Her family has forced her into an arranged marriage with a non-christian man. Thankfully he is not totally opposed to Christianity. In fact, he has been coming to church and wants to learn more. Pray he would realize his need for Christ. - Pray for us as we anticipate the birth of our second child (a boy) in September. Pray for Brenda's health throughout this pregnancy. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Isn't it wonderful to see the flowers blooming, to hear the birds chirping, and to smell the fragrance of freshly cut grass in the air. We are thoroughly enjoying our our time back in the States this time of year. We have had some good services and fellowship in the month of May and early June. thoughtfulness in all the items and gift cards they provided for the missionary provision closet--as well as a diaper cake for our new little baby on the way. Brenda's parents drove up from Oklahoma, and Grace was baptized in the Carney pond in Thompsonville, IL. We are so proud our daughter has decided to follow our Lord in baptism. Eureka FWB Association Church Camp The first week of June we were priviledged to take part in the Eureka FWB Association Church Camp in. Brenda grew up attending this church camp, and she has many memories there. It was actually at this church camp that she answered the call to be a missionary! The Lord really moved in the camp this week, and we saw many children and teens give their hearts to Christ! If you are from the State of Oklahoma we encourage you to support us through the Oklahoma Total Support Plan.
Blade, a young man who presented us with his savings We were presented with a special gift this past Sunday evening when we were at the Tamaha FWB Church in Oklahoma. After the service this young man, named Blade, came up to us beaming from ear to ear, and handed us this (HEAVY) 2 liter Coke bottle full of dimes! His grandparents said he had been saving this money for a year or two, to buy a special toy. However, of his own will, he decided he wanted to give the money to Missions instead! What an example of "cheerful" giving! With Gary and Sandy Curry in Ada, OK This past week we had a wonderful time reconnecting with friends, Gary and Sandy Curry, in Ada, Oklahoma. We had a service at their church (Harmony FWBC) and spent a few days reconnecting with them and some other people in the area. Gary has a tremendous ministry called Bridge Builders for the Cross which ministers in many areas including prisons, Mexico, and Cuba. They have a contageous love for the Lord and such a heart for people! Please pray for their ministry.
