We celebrated our first All-School Mass of the year on Friday. 15 of our school children were installed as members of Student Government and they are ministering at our 5 p.m. Mass this weekend, after which they will sell baked goods to raise funds for their activities. Thank you for your support. Thank you also for supporting the Car Wash last Sunday which raised $1,400 for the 8th grade Caritas trip. Thanks be to God and your efforts and support, our school enrollment is increasing little by little. We have a long way to go to fill our school to capacity, but as we pace our growth we continue to build a solid program for Catholic Education in our parish. This is one of the greatest gifts we can offer our parish families, and a gift that lasts a lifetime for our SDW School children. All our parishioners deserve credit for this gift. Keynote Speakers: Professor Rabbi Daniel Sperber studied for rabbinic ordination at Yeshivot Kol Torah in Israel, earned a Bachelors degree in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art, and a doctorate from University College, London in Classics, Ancient History and Hebrew Studies. In 1968 he joined the faculty of Bar-Ilan University, as a teacher in the Talmud department. For the past eight years, he has served as President of the Jesselson Institute for Advanced Torah Studies. For two decades he has served as a representative of the Israel Ministry of Religion and the Foreign Office in matters of interreligious dialogue. Reverend Monsignor Guy Massie serves as the chairperson and Vicar for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. He is also the pastor at Sacred Hearts and St. Stephen Church in Brooklyn. Massie received his master s degree in Judaic Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington.
