This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! Welcome: Today, being preparatory Sunday, we want to begin our week of preparation by focusing on God s requirement that we turn from all sin and dedicate our lives to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Next Sunday morning, we anticipate celebrating the Lord s Supper together. Please join us after this morning s service for refreshments and fellowship in our Fellowship Hall. Children aged 3-5 meet your teachers in the Narthex during the offering this morning for Children s Church. Pastor s Book Study: Since Wednesday was cancelled, all are welcome to come at 5:30 pm today to study Chapters 11 and 12. This coming week, please finish chapters 13 and 14. ABOUT OUR MESSAGES This morning- No one likes to buy a lemon, and no one looks to fall into a trap. But people and animals do. The story of Proverbs 7:1-27 portrays how it happens, and how sin works exactly this way. Next week, we meet the opposite figure of the adulteress, the woman of wisdom, who calls out in Proverbs 8. This evening- It is not an overstatement to say that the message of this evening's passage changed everything for God's people. Hebrews 10:1-18 and our message, "Better than Bulls and Goats," explains the profound way that Christ's sacrifice does what repeated temple sacrifices under the law of Moses could never do: change people. PRAYERS AND PRAISES We join together in the sorrow of Ryan and Amy Van Zee after the death of Ryan's mother, Lois, earlier this week in Corsica. Services were held on Thursday and Friday. Please be in prayer for the Van Zee family to cling to our God of refuge in this time, and in particular, let us together lift up Ryan and Amy.

Dear Church family Marlys has just completed her first round of 12 weeks of chemo, and is awaiting results of her MRI on Friday. She will start the next series of more intense chemo for the next 12 weeks. She really appreciates the cards and prayers of this people as it bucks her up. We ask for your prayers and continued support. God is good. ~Marlys Van Bruggen & Merle & Joyce Meyerink (Maryls address is on the bulletin board) OUR ANNOUNCEMENTS Sanctity of Life: Thank you to all who donated items for the babies at the Alpha Center. Cornerstone Prison Church is asking for donations of yarn. The inmates at the South Dakota State Penitentiary have the opportunity to knit hats for children in need. The prison does not provide the yarn, so we ask churches and individuals to help with this important ministry. There is a box in the narthex. Thank you for your generosity. Registration is now open for the Spring Cursillo weekend. Men's Weekend: February 23-26. Women's Weekend: March 2-5. Anyone 21 and older is invited to attend. For more info or check out www.nwiacursillo.com. There will NOT be a Fall Cursillo in 2017. ABOUT OUR OFFERINGS Our offerings today are for our General Fund. Next week, our regular offerings will be for Dakota Christian School. Dakota Christian School educates children and young people from the perspective of God s Word, in the Holy Bible, in all subjects. We emphasize God s truth in all areas of life to equip students for service in our world today and tomorrow. (from dchs.net) Next week s communion offerings will be for World Renew.
