Worship Department The Worship Department would like to thank everyone as they help with the worship services each week. A special thank you to Joyce Kidwiler as she provided music by piano and organ. Now we welcome Jim Kindall as Music Director! Our Elders have really stepped up to the many tasks needing to be done during the worship services. You, the congregation, have welcomed our fill-in ministers. We are all working together and moving forward and all the while serving others around us with the love God provides. See you again Sunday! Pat Bouse

2016 Service Opportunities As we approach the New Year many in our church have committed to take on a leadership role. We hope that each member of the congregation will support these leaders by picking a committee to serve on. It takes all of us to help make the Clinton Christian Church a shining light in our community and to serve and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We support the local community in many ways and can only do this by adopting a mind of service. We support the Community Café, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, MOPS after Dark, as well as many other outreach programs. Within our church we have seven Department Chairs as well as numerous committees, all having an important function within our church. Below is a list of the various Departments Chairpersons. Please search for a Department that you would like to use your talents and contact the Chair of the Department and offer to serve. If we keep our eyes focused on Christ, work together in the Spirit of Christ, and take our Christian walk seriously, then 2016 will be a great year for the Clinton Christian Church. Christian Education: Carol Hinton Property: Charles Townsend Stewardship: Dan Wallace Membership: Mary Cupp Worship: Pat Bouse Evangelism: Donna Martin CIS: Annette Myers I want to thank all those who shared their time, talents, and money to support us in 2015. I also want to thank all those who stepped forward and said yes, I will serve in 2016. We have a tremendous group of dedicated Christians who are committed to working together in this time of transition within our Church. Brian Hetherington 2016 Board Chair Deacon Survey Update Derived from the Greek word diákonos, the word deacon is defined as servant, waiting-man, minister, messenger. With all the changes that have taken place in our church this year, it was agreed among a few deacons that a letter be sent out to all deacons of the church. In this letter, the update on the resignation of the deacon chair was noted, the Position and Duties of the deacon were explained along with the Election and Terms of Office, and the Standing Rules as written in the church By-Laws. Each deacon was sent a response card and asked to prayerfully consider the role of being an active deacon. Yes to continue the role of an active deacon or No not able to fulfill the position of a deacon. The response from the deacons was very positive. As a result of this, there will be a mandatory meeting and training session scheduled for Thursday, January 14, at 6:30 p.m. We will meet in the sanctuary to go over the duties and worship service responsibilities. Discussion will continue to elect a deacon chairperson. We encourage each deacon to schedule this meeting on their calendar and make it a point to attend. If you are unable to attend, please call one of the people listed below, and we will make arrangements for training at another time. Thank you, Avis Compton 660-885-4172 Kathy Hetherington 660-885-3854 Donna Martin 660-885-8292
