(Genesis 28:1, footnote) This Biblical name is ﬁtting because the approximately 80 men and women who live and serve here are ordained ministers who have dedicated themselves to Jehovah God. Bethel Home Members of the Hungary Bethel family live in the residence building, which has about 60 rooms. This building is connected by corridors to the office buildings, the dining room, and a Kingdom Hall. Some members of the family serve in the Bethel Home. For example, some are assigned to the kitchen, where they prepare nutritious meals for the entire family to enjoy in the comfortable dining room. Thus, the family benefits from a well-balanced diet in a wholesome environment. Bethel family members are provided with rooming, meals, and a small monthly allowance to assist them with their personal expenses. They can truly be called a family because of their unity in serving their heavenly Father, Jehovah God. As a family they work together, enjoy meals together, and study the Bible together. Other members do cleaning, housekeeping, or laundry. These assignments contribute to the family s high standard of cleanliness, which is a hallmark of Bethel homes throughout the world. Much effort is involved in maintaining the various properties and equipment used by the branch.

Purchasing Department The Purchasing Department obtains materials needed for branch office operations. When ordering and buying goods, those in the Purchasing Department seek the best overall value for the branch office. Their foremost aim is to support Kingdom interests and to make wise use of the contributions sent in by individuals and congregations. Different departments care for the mechanical, electrical, and other maintenance needs of the facilities. Those serving in Vehicle Maintenance keep the branch vehicles in good working condition. Legal Desk This department provides assistance when it becomes necessary to defend the ministry or beliefs. The goal of the Legal Desk is to defend and legally establish the good news. Philippians 1:7. Shipping This department arranges for the prompt delivery of literature and magazines to congregations throughout Hungary. Many tons of material are sent out each month.

Bethel s finest assets are the spiritual men

Offices Those serving here translate printed, online, and video publications. They translate into Hungarian, Lov ári, and Hungarian Sign Language. The English text is received in electronic form from world headquarters and is translated, proofread, and checked for accuracy against the original English text. The approved text is then composed into pages and sent to the Germany branch, or to another assigned branch, for printing. This department maintains the computer systems that are used at Bethel. These include systems for telephones, e-mail, word processing, and file storage. The also provides training and technical support for users in the branch. Audio/Video Department This department prepares audio recordings of the Bible, The Watchtower, Awake!, books, convention dramas, and sound tracks for videos and other material. Readers for these recordings include congregation members of different ages and backgrounds from all over the country.

Local Design/Construction Department This department supports the work of planning, designing, and building places of worship for Jehovah s Witnesses. It organizes training for the brothers and sisters who construct Kingdom Halls, and it monitors quality, safety, and costs. Hospital Information Desk This department provides the seven Hospital Liaison Committees in Hungary with the latest research on bloodless medical treatment. In turn, the elders serving on these committees make this information available to doctors who are willing to treat their Witness patients without the use of blood. Public Information Desk This office provides news agencies with accurate information about Jehovah s Witnesses, clearing up any misunderstandings regarding their beliefs and ministry. The Public Information Desk also distributes news releases that report on the activities in Hungary, especially during circuit assemblies and regional conventions. Branch Committee Service Department The Service Department handles correspondence with circuit overseers, elders, pioneers, and others in the Hungary branch territory regarding congregation and field service activities. It schedules circuit assemblies and regional conventions. The Service Department also receives and tabulates field service reports from the congregations. In addition, this department organizes several schools, such as the Kingdom Ministry School, the Pioneer Service School, and the School for Kingdom Evangelizers. Sign Language recording
