FROM THE EAST Brethren, I would like to take a moment to thank each and every officer that I have the privilege of working with this year. If not for these brothers and their outstanding dedication to this Lodge not very much would get done. W:. Lou Kelly has done a great job heading up all of the work details in getting the security post and chain installed with the help of Br. Derek Lynn. Br. Gene Scheuring and Br. Paul Noller. The kitchen has a new coat of paint thanks to the hard work of Br. Marcel Leclerc, Br. John Greene, Br. Jim Malmfeldt. Each of these Brothers has taken time out of their week to volunteer and get these projects completed Br Mark Baltimore has been an integral part of getting our Family Dinners off and running this year. He has been coordinating the work with Lady Deb Sims to provide some new menu s and different type of meals. We ran into a problem with our March 17 th Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner and we plan to elevate any such problem from happening in the future. From now on we are going back to the RED and GOLD tickets. If Br. Derek Lynn receives your reservation to e-mail address (petamaka77@gmail.com) by 6:00 pm on the Friday preceding the family Dinner he will hand you a GOLD ticket. If your reservation is late or no reservation has been made Br. Derek will give you a RED ticket. Those with GOLD tickets will be served first and when all of the GOLD ticket holders have been served those with a RED ticket will be served. This is necessary so that we can get an accurate count of those who will be attending so that the correct amount of food can be purchased and prepared. It is hoped that this method will assure that we wont come up short with our dinners and everyone will have plenty to eat. At our last Officers Meeting on March 24 th it was decided by unanimous vote to leave the chains on the east parking lot un-locked. The chains are just a deterrent to keep unwanted traffic from having access to the lot. The chains will remain in place unless there is a Masonic function at the Lodge. If a vehicle not belonging in the lot was chained and locked in the lot after the last vehicle from the Masonic function had left it could cause an unwanted problem. The excessive traffic on both of our lots is really taking its toll on the blacktop. There are only so many patches that can be applied before it will be necessary to install a brand new blacktop surface and who do you think will bear the brunt of that colossal Bill? Our Tablelodge was not as well attended as I had hoped but for all who did attend I thank you. We are planning to have another one later in the year that will give W:. Lou Ortt time to dig up some new material. Fraternally, W:. Steve Murphy, Worshipful Master

FROM THE WEST Brethern: Hope everyone enjoyed are St Patricks day dinner at the lodge prepared by Debbie Sims our wonderful chef, and assisted by Br Marcel Leclerc and Lady Suesan, thank you for all you do for our lodge it is very much appreciated, also I wish to thank everyone who attended and also who RSVP. Brethren this is very important as we need to know at the latest Friday evening before the dinner on the third Monday the number of attendees. This gives us time for our Chef to prepare the correct amount of food. Don't forget that Monday the 7th April is our lodge night. If you haven't come out in a while, please do. If you need assistance getting to lodge, let us know and we will help you get here. We look forward to seeing you. Fraternally, Derek J Lynn SW

FROM THE SOUTH Brethren: We had another great month at Venice Lodge. As many Brothers have seen we have new bright yellow post and chains in our parking lot. I would like to thank all of the Brothers who worked so hard installing them On the 7th of March we had a Tablelodge. The food was prepared by Deb Sims along with the steaks prepared to perfection by our grill masters R.W. Hart, Brothers Steelman and Leclerc. I know no Brother left the Lodge hungry that night. Thanks for a job well done. The Saint Paddy's Day meal was well attendedand once again Deb Sims did an outstanding job. Brothers I do need to ask you for some help cleaning up after our meals on the third Monday. Please contact me at (941) -716-2898 or by e-mail to ( Baltimore711@yahoo.com ) if you can provideany assistance. I would also like to thank Brother Marcel Leclerc and all of the Ladies for their helpin the kitchen. The April Charity of the Month is the Boys & Girls Club. Fraternally, Br. Mark Balyimore JW Family Dinner Menu Chicken W/ Pasta, Mixed Vegetables, Rolls, Desert Coffee and Iced Tea

W:. Harry Shaeffer from Englewood Lodge No. 360 came to our Lodge Meeting on March 17 th and gave an interesting bit of Masonic Education. The topic was on Brotherly Love in Masonry. W:. Shaeffer was a Guide at the George Washington Memorial Lodge in Washington DC and served as Worshipful Master there also. W:. Shaeffer is a wealth of Masonic knowledge and is more than willing to share many of his past experiences at the Washington Memorial Lodge and his many other travels in Masonry with anyone who would ask him.

BOOSTERS We would like to thank the following Brothers for supporting our Lodge GOLD $50 GOLD $50 W:. Richard Geraci R:.W:. Barry D. Hart W:.M:. Steve Murphy Br. Paul Noller W:, Jeff Pick W:. MASONIC EDUCATION Submitted by : W:. Hampton Crimi Brotherly Love - Brotherly Love is one of the closest associations that could possibly exist between two people. We love our blood brothers just because they are our brothers. We have no hope of any material gain by associating with them. We would refuse such gain if it were offered. We enjoy being with them just for the pleasure we receive from their presence. We want to aid and assist them without thought of gain or reward. Their presence satisfies an inner desire that nothing else can. We overlook faults of our brothers that would be repulsive in others. We would come to their rescue even if we were convinced they were wrong. Petty grievances and peculiarities are overlooked or ignored. There are bonds of attraction which are almost unbreakable but cannot be reasonably explained. All these things exist because we are brothers. In the Masonic sense we must strive to achieve that feeling with our Masonic brethren. We must be wiling to overlook or forget petty grievances or peculiarities. We must strive to see the good things in our brethren that will make us love them. We must cast aside our passions and prejudices and remember that, "All men are my brethren." By the exercise of brotherly love, we are taught to regard the whole human species as one great family; and that we must aid, support and protect each other By the exercise of Brotherly Love, we are taught to regard the whole human species as one family; the high and low, the rich or poor; who, as being created by one Almighty parent, and the inhabitants of the same planet, are to aid, support, and protect each other. On this basis, Masonry unities men of every country, sect, and opinion who might otherwise have remained at a defined distance. I believe that Brother Love is philosophic and obligatory mortar that cements Masons throughout the world together, and by exercising our philosophy of Brotherly Love among ourselves, we become the representative and facilitators for mutual and understanding, fidelity, and the support possible among all men, just as it is, among all Mason s. That is Brotherly love." ~Brother Nicholas Lainepport CURRENT PETITIONERS Br. Robert E. Foster
