CONNECTIONS from your Pastor s Heart Welcome Mark Bethea to Serve on our Staff It gives me great joy to announce that God has called Mark Bethea to return home and serve as our Associate Pastor for Evangelism and Outreach! Mark grew up in Montgomery and at FBC. His Dad, David Bethea, has coached at Montgomery Academy for over 30 years and was recently inducted into the Alabama Coaches Hall of Fame. Mark earned a BA from Auburn and his Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2010 Mark married Brittany Tucker. Brittany grew up at FBC and was a Hitchcock Award winner. Brittany is a Pharmacist who has recently accepted a Faculty Position with the Auburn School of Pharmacy. God has blessed them with Micah who arrived in September of 2016. The Betheas are coming from Birmingham where Mark has served as the Senior Pastor of Argo Baptist Church for the last three years along with working as the Acquisitions and Digital Editor for New Hope Publishing, which is part of the Women s Missionary Union of our SBC family. Mark is a published author. His excellent book is entitled, 30 Days of Hope for Peaceful Living which offers encouragement about God s faithfulness in uncertain times. The Betheas will be a tremendous addition to our Church s equipping team. Mark has worked on our church staff in the past, and he is one of the Lord s most choice servants. He is a Christ-like man who possesses strong skills in communication, relationship building, technology use, and administration. His great gifts are combined with a bright intellect, an excellent work-ethic and consistent humility. Let s pray for Mark, Brittany and Micah as they help us build the Lord s Kingdom through His FBC Family.
