Multiplying leaders and churches Free Methodist World Missions

OUR CHALLENGE Latin America is young, secularized and postmodern. Many live in poverty. There is much ethnic, racial, and cultural diversity with widely divergent political ideologies. There is a growing spiritual and moral vacuum. 58 nations & territories 639 million people 84% live in cities the world s most urban region 23 countries with Free Methodist ministry Our Mission is to fuel and sustain a biblical movement to reach Latin America for Christ by developing leaders and planting churches.

OUR STRATEGY Community Church Planting (CCP) Most leaders have been trained on this Biblical model to make disciples and form new groups. A Latin American guidebook was recently produced and materials are available on a new website. Over 80 new house churches started in 2018 and we are already seeing third generation groups. Pastoral Formation A new Latin American curriculum was launched with manuals for 19 courses and a guidebook for the ordination process. The response has been really encouraging. With a clear vision, framework and game plan younger leaders are empowered. A multiplying movement has been launched.

THE NEED Funds are needed to fuel and sustain this movement International Missionaries $60,000 (see page 5) Underfunded Mission Districts $58,000 (see page 6) Community Church Planting (CCP) $62,000 (see page 7)

David & Yeya Lopez, Lima Peru $34,000 Missionaries from a creative access country, David and Yeya have launched a pioneering project in this strategic capital city. They are starting the 5th house church and have 15 leaders in training. INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES $60,000 Hiuberth & Sandra Zapata, Managua Nicaragua $18,000 Moving from Costa Rica, Hiuberth and Sandra arrived just as Nicaragua erupted in political violence. Our churches have responded to the challenge: 60 leaders are being trained in CCP and 20 house churches have started. Eunice Alvarez, Quito Ecuador $8,000 Currently on home assignment in Mexico after 4 years of very effective ministry in Ecuador, Eunice will return to focus on training pastors.

Latin America Where Needed Most Fund $12,000 This fund channels resources to country budgets and strategic projects where needed most to sustain the movement of multiplying churches and leaders. UNDERFUNDED MISSION DISTRICTS $58,000 Colombia $20,000 Three established churches are simultaneously planting eight more. This fruitful district needs partners to fuel their momentum. Costa Rica $15,000 Three young elders were ordained in 2018, each trained and committed to multiplying other pastors and churches. This district needs funds to resource a new day. Peru $5,000 A younger leader, Pastor Geovanna Chavez begins serving as district director in January 2019. She needs travel funds to visit the widely scattered churches and mentor new leaders. Nicaragua $6,000 A remarkable turnaround with significant new growth, this district in the second poorest country of the hemisphere needs only minimal additional funds to move forward.

COMMUNITY CHURCH PLANTING (CCP) $62,000 John Jairo Leal Area CCP Coordinator, John Jairo Leal $33,000 A visionary leader with a fruitful track record, Pastor John has led a CCP pilot project and developed the manual being used all over Latin America. $33,000 will cover fair full time compensation and a travel budget to free him to train and coach others throughout the Area. Seed Funds for new CCP Projects $20,000 The community church planting model works. Once of its core principles is the resources are in the harvest. Without creating dependency or long-term subsidies minimal grants are needed to get new projects up and running. This will pay great Kingdom dividends. Regional Facilitator from a limited access country $9,000 God is using a wise and seasoned leader to coach and mentor others. A stipend will enable him to feed his family and continue multiplying leaders and churches throughout his region.
