The Pwer f Our Thughts and Wrds 1st 5th 10-16-2016 This Week s Theme: Understanding that ur thughts and wrds create ur reality fr us! Our thughts are like seeds, and we want t grw gd seeds/thughts. Teacher Insights : This Sunday, we will explre the classic Unity teaching, Thughts becme things. Our children will be hearing abut hw they can use wrds t affect their lives. Our lessn will fcus n the fllwing cncepts: Everything begins with a thught that we give pwer t. We can change ur thughts and thereby change ur lives. Like attracts like. Unity Writings: Every wrd, therefre, has an effect. The intensity f the effect depends n the intensity f the thught and feeling behind it and the way the wrd is spken. The Quest, - Richard and Mary-Alice Jaflla When the wrds are spken with spirit, nt nly cnditins withut are changed but the watery cells f the bdy are transfrmed frm sluggish actin t a state f high psitive activity. Keep a True Lent -, Charles Fillmre Scripture: By yur wrds yu will be justified, and by yur wrds yu will be cndemned. - Matthew 12:37 (NRSV) Unity Principles: (tday s principle is highlighted) 1: Gd is all Gd and active in everything, everywhere. 2: I am naturally gd because Gd s Divinity is in me and in everyne. 3: I create my experiences by what I chse t think and what I feel and believe. 4: Thrugh affirmative prayer and meditatin, I cnnect with Gd and bring ut the gd in my life. 5: Practice, Practice, Practice. I d and give my best by living the Truth I knw! I make a difference!

Pre-sessin: My Ryal Decree Make sure yu create a sacred space at the tables in yur rms. Yu can d this by lighting the Christ candle and then placing sacred bjects arund it. Greet Parents and Children. As much as pssible, try t greet parents at the sign-in table. At the Sign-in table ask: Please print names Des yur child have a registratin frm filled ut? Any special needs that we shuld knw abut? Allergies? Can we have yur email address fr updates? Pre-sessin Activity : My Ryal Decree Materials: Printed cpy f Decree, Markers, clred pencils As the children arrive, invite them t think abut the questin, What d yu decree t be true abut yu? Share with the class that they are the rulers f their wn persnal wrlds. Since they are the ruler f their wrld they may wish t make a crwn ut f the cardstck and decrative materials. Regardless f if they chse t make a crwn r nt, give each child a ryal decree sheet and ask them t create, in wrds r pictures, a Ryal Decree f what they are ging t create in their lives and hw they culd use their thughts and wrds t begin the prcess. As they are cmpleting this activity, discuss with them the pwer f creating with ur thughts and wrds. Sacred Circle: The Pwer f Thught 3 Ohms: In rder t synchrnize ur energies, have the children sit in a circle and begin sacred circle with 3 hms. Wh is Jesus fr us in Unity? Our way-shwer, the great master f lve. Affirmatin: I use psitive thught t create psitive experiences. NEW Intrductins/Namaste/Hugs: In turns, have each student stand and, ne at a time in a circle say Namaste and put their hands in a prayer psitin, bwing t their neighbr n their left and then give them a hug. The child receiving the hug in turn repeats the greeting with their neighbr. : "The light in me sees the light in yu." Heart Agreements : Heart Agreements establish the bundaries f hw everyne in the grup agrees t shw up in Sunday schl. They are nt being TOLD hw they must shw

up; they are telling YOU hw they have agreed t shw up. During the curse f the lessn, yu may refer back t the Heart Agreements. Fr example, if a grup f kids is perpetually talking while yu are speaking, then yu may say t the class as a whle, What was ur heart agreement abut listening t speakers? And let the kids tell yu! Our basic heart agreements are: Gentle Hands Open Hearts Walking Feet Listening ears Kind Wrds Lve Offering: Divine Lve, Blesses and multiplies, all that I have, all that I give and all that I receive. And I am jy-filled and grateful. FYI: students may place lts f things besides mney in the lve ffering basket: jy, friendship, peace, lve, etc. Experience and Meditatin: We will cntinue t practice the Master Mind Prayer in exchange fr the traditinal meditatin we nrmally d. (Prayers are in yur tub) Master Mind Prayer Materials: Cpies f the Master Mind Prayer, clr sheet Activity: We will take this time, during Fall Faith, t learn the Master Mind Prayer. Describe t the class the meaning behind the prayer, and hw pwerful it is t recite tgether as a grup. Have the class g arund the circle and have them recite the prayer frm steps 1-4 tgether. Then start with yurself and read step 5, and explain befrehand that after yu ffer yur heart s desire, the whle class respnd s in unisn with, Yur heart s desire is nw made manifest! Explain that when they put their desire ut, the pwer f their prayer is expanded and given energy by the class repeating yur desire. It is pwerful! Give the children sme ideas if they are stumped: ie My heart s desire is fr : t d well n a test, prject, in sprts, gd health, etc. When everyne is cmplete, have the class read step 6 in unisn. Afterward, the children can use the clr-sheet t draw an image f their heart s desire, and take hme t cncentrate n fr the cming week. Stry time: The Swer Yu will find tday s stry n page 224 f The Children s Illustrated Bible. This is the stry tld by Jesus abut the swer wh swed seeds n many different types f land and what happened t them. This stry will be used this weekend t help

illuminate the idea that hw we use ur thughts and wrds is directly related t what ur wrld is like. If we refuse t hear and think gd things abut urselves we will appear very negative. If we are receptive t the gd in ur lives and fcus n it then mre f it will appear in ur lives. We have the pwer t chse hw we want t be and hw we will respnd t different situatins. Discussin Questins: * Nt all questins need t be asked What is happening in this stry? What des the swer represent? What des the seed represent? What are the fur types f sil and what d they represent? What is the difference between the seed swn n the path and the seed swn in the ther three places? In yur wn wrds can yu describe t us what happens t us when we are like the thrny r rcky path? What happens t ur lives if we are like the gd sil, receptive t the gd in ur lives? When yu listen t yur teachers, children r friends, which type f sil are yu mst like? What wuld yu have t change in yur befre yu culd describe yurself as gd sil, ready t receive seed and prduce a crp? Creative Expressins: Swing Seeds f Psitive Thught Materials: Message slips The slips will be in an envelpe in yur tub. Befre the class arrives, hide the message slips arund the rm. Tell the children that the bject f this activity is t find ne f the slips and think abut the message n the slip and hw it applies t yu. Once they have dne that they are t turn the slip int yu and share their psitive message abut themselves with yu. Once everyne has fund their slip and shared their message ask them: Hw hard was it t think f hw the message applied t yu? Why is it imprtant t pay attentin t the wrds we use? What can we d if we are feeling dwn and we dn t really believe the psitive wrds we are asked t share? Hw can we use ur wrds t empwer urselves?

Clsing Prayer/Circle: In additin t a clsing prayer, this is time t ask the children t share the fllwing with the class: What did we experience tday? What were sme new ideas we gained? Let us pause fr a mment in silence. We send thughts f lve t everyne in the wrld. Pause. Father Mther Gd, thank yu fr this time tgether t learn abut the law f giving and receiving. In this mment we chse t create a wnderful wrld fr all. We allw ur Christ light t shine ut fr the wrld t see and speak wrds f lve and peace int ur wrld. We are grateful. Thank yu Gd! Amen. Teacher Reminders : Please HELP Return the teacher tub and all supplies t the Resurce Rm Sign ut by writing the number f children yu had n the Teacher Sign-In Sheet. At 11 put the sign-in sheets in yur supply tubs. Put the lve ffering in the envelpe in yur tubs.
