A NOBLE NOMAD STORY A TALE OF TWO FRIENDS JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME THE QUEST TO EMPOWER WOMEN FEBRUARY 6, 2017 Meet Peter Yeung of Acupuncture Avenue in Pasadena VOYAGELA STAFF SHARE TWEET PIN Today we d like to introduce you to Peter Yeung. POPULAR

Peter, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today? I was born with a gift a gift that was disguised as anxiety, depression, fatigue, chronic pain and overall poor health. All this suffering led me on an amazing journey of healing and self-discovery. In 2001, as an exchange student in Hong Kong, I met a famous doctor, Choi Mun Sau, to seek healing for my ailments. He worked in a small clinic in the Yau Ma Tei District, tending to over 100 people per day. I saw many patients in his clinic getting great results, who recounted their success stories:. My mother had daily migraines for 20 years. We went to see so many doctors and specialists but it was only till Doctor Choi s sessions that she was able to feel better. The daughter and her mother both cried when sharing this story with the other patients. I was also very moved. There were many other stories like this that I heard which highlighted Dr. Choi s skills to heal many difficult health issues. People were greatly appreciative for what Dr. Choi did for them. The power to heal people became a motivation for me to become an Acupuncturist. I have since received treatments and studied with many great doctors, healers, spiritual masters from many different disciplines. Today, after years of practicing Acupuncture and seeing patients, I am still as passionate as the first day I started healing people. I visit Doctor Choi often when I am in Hong Kong to express my gratitude. Like him, I strive to help people through commitment, integrity, and compassion. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way? When I decided to go into Acupuncture, my parents weren t initially supportive of the idea. To them, I was going backwards. They are Chinese immigrants, who worked arduously and believed success was a good job in a corporate office with stable pay, health benefits, 401k, etc. Yet, I had decided to commit four years to study acupuncture, after having already completed my bachelors. They did not understand why I d study something that belonged in the East. Did Americans believe in Acupuncture anyway? Then one day, my dad got sick. He fainted at work and went to the ER. The doctor said he had a minor stroke and recommended rest. He was tired and really weak. I brought him to an Acupuncturist in Cupertino. My dad got to see first hand a very busy and successful acupuncturist in America, who helped my dad regain his strength and energy. After this experience, my parents started to understand my pursuit of an Acupuncture career. FUN THINGS TO DO IN LA IN MARCH & APRIL LA S MOST INSPIRING STORIES A NOBLE NOMAD STORY 15 AMAZING FEMALE FOUNDERS CHANGING THE WORLD A TALE OF TWO FRIENDS THE HOLIDAYS IN LA Alright so let s talk business. Tell us about Acupuncture Avenue what should we know? I m an Acupuncturist that specializes on emotional well-being. I help people stress, anxiety and depression. I also help people let go of emotional trauma. I am proud to help others achieve health and happiness in their lives. What sets me apart is that I have been in Hong Kong and China for 5 years, learning the roots of Chinese medicine and healing. Now I am bringing back that knowledge to serve others. I also went through a lot of emotional challenges in my life so when patients talk to me about theirs, I can often relate, empathize and guide them out of it too. Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story who has played a meaningful role? Doctor Choi in Hong Kong for opening my eyes to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Without him, I would never have become an Acupuncturist. My mother for always supporting me in my dreams. All of my Acupuncture teachers at Five Branches University for teaching and imparting their knowledge and experience with me. All of my healers and mentors in Hong Kong for showing me the deeper aspects of healing. Peggy and Norman for always guiding me. Victor for being my brother. Richard Wickes for always being selfless and sharing his insight. Cecile, Mimi, Yvonne, Mandy and Amanda for helping me with healing sessions and being my friends. Contact Info: Address: 234 N.
