A Message From Our Pastor Dear friends- In the next few weeks we will be celebrating a number of important events here in the parish. On Friday evening April 26, Bishop Robert Hennessey will be with us to celebrate Confirmation for the members of this year s Confirmation class. On the first weekend of May, the boys and girls of our First Communion class will receive Holy Communion. These are graced moments for our parish and for these members of our parish family. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare to receive these Sacraments, and let us hope and pray that they will remain close to the Lord and will continue to deepen their faith for the rest of their lives. Another very important event that will be occurring during the month of May will be our Parish Council elections. Each parish is required to have a Parish Council and the members of that body serve as the chief advisors to the pastors of the parishes in the Archdiocese. We are excited to host this year's walk at a NEW, spacious location featuring covered picnic areas and a nice view! We have been blessed over the years here at our parish with some wonderful members of the parish who have given of their time and talent to serve on Please join us for a day of great food, socializing, information sharing and raising awareness about epilepsy!! To register as the parish council. Many wonderful ideas and pro- an individual or a team, please visit grams originated with the council. This year s elections are very important, because as you know, St. Timothy and St. Catherine parishes have been asked to enter into collaboration, so that the two parishes will eventually be served by a single pastoral team. The planning for that initiative will be shaped in large measure by the members of the councils of both parishes coming together to evaluate the best practices to insure a smooth and effective transition to this new model. Monday, May 13 will be the final day to submit names for next year s parish council. We will introduce the various candidates during the remainder of the month of May and elections will take place on the weekend of June 1-2. What type of person would do well on the council? I think people who communicate well; can really listen to other points of view and can make some compromises and concessions when necessary; people who have some expertise in merging groups together; and without doubt, people of strong faith and charity. If you feel that you can help us with this important challenge that lies before us, or you know someone who you feel would do well as a council member, I would ask you to please forward those names to the parish office and we will introduce those nominees to the process. I cannot emphasize enough how important this coming year will be for our parish and for the collaboration process. Please consider this need and be of help if you or someone you know is able and qualified. Fr. Culloty
