The Stations of the Cross for Children MISSIONARY SERVANTS OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY www.trinitymissions.org Adapted from Stations of the Cross for Little People by Rita LaBruzzo and Father Bob Goodyear, S.T. Illustrations from supercoloringpages.com

The First Station Jesus is Condemned to Die All of the chief priests said Jesus deserved to die. They tied Jesus hands and led Him away to be crucified. -- Mark 15:1 Jesus, the people were wrong when they wanted to put You on the cross. We are wrong when we tell lies or think bad things about other people. Help us to always tell the truth and think good things about people. Amen.

The Second Station Jesus Carries His Cross Jesus Christ cleanses us from all our sins. If we say we have no sin, we are lying to ourselves. When we confess our sins, Jesus forgives us and makes us new again. -- I John 1:7-9 Jesus, thank You for loving us even when we sin. If we are truly sorry, You forgive us when we sin. Jesus, we are sorry for our sins. We are sorry for loving You less than we want to love You. Amen.

The Third Station Jesus Falls the First Time One day Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are tired and worrying. I will help you and let you rest. Take my love and learn from me. --Matthew 11:28-29 Jesus, we want to be good, but it is hard to be good all the time. When we make a mistake or do something wrong, help us to be like You. Help us to get up and try again. Amen.

The Fourth Station Jesus Meets His Mother When Jesus saw His mother and John, the disciple He loved, standing next to His cross, He said, Mother, there is your son. Then He said to John, Mary is your mother now. --John 19:26-27 Jesus, You loved Your Mother very much. On the Cross, You worried about her. Thank You for the people who love us and worry about us. We are sorry for not telling them we love them. Jesus, help us to be better. Amen.

The Fifth Station Simon Helps Jesus Carry the Cross As the soldiers led Jesus away, there was a man named Simon who was coming in from the country. The soldiers grabbed him and forced him to pick up Jesus cross and made him carry it behind Jesus. -- Luke 23-26. Jesus, help us to see the time when others need us. Forgive us for the good things we could have done, but didn t do. Help us to do good things for You. Amen.

The Sixth Station Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus Jesus said to His apostles, This is my commandments: you must love one another as I love you. -- John 15:12 Jesus, we pray for the people we love: our parents, our family and relatives, our teachers and the people of our church. Be with them in a special way today and every day. Amen.

The Seventh Station Jesus Falls the Second Time Peter told Jesus, Even if everyone else runs away, I will never desert you. Jesus said to him, I tell you, Peter, this very night you will deny me three times. -- Matthew 26:33-34 Jesus, Peter loved You, but he did something wrong because he was afraid of the soldiers. Sometimes we do things that are wrong because we want people to like us. Help us to be good. Amen.

The Eighth Station Jesus Talks to the Women of Jerusalem Jeremiah said, I do not know how to speak. I am only a child. But God said, You must go to everyone I send you to, and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will help you. --Jeremiah 1:6-8 Jesus, we are little, but with Your help, we can do big things for You. We can show people they are special. We can show our families we love them. Jesus, please help us to do more for You. Amen.

The Ninth Station Jesus Falls a Third Time Jesus said, If someone sins against you seven times in the same day, and seven times say I am sorry, you must forgive them with all your heart. -- Luke 17:4 Jesus, no matter how many times we sin, You forgive us if we are sorry. Help us to forgive others, especially the people who hurt us. Help us to love them like You love us. Amen.

The Tenth Station Jesus is Stripped of His Clothes Jesus said, If you want to be perfect, sell what you have and give to the poor. Then come follow me. -- Matthew 19:21 Jesus, sometimes we are selfish and love our things more than we love other people. You told us that if we want to go to heaven, we should share what we have. Help us to care about others like You care about us. Amen.

The Eleventh Station Jesus is Nailed to the Cross Jesus gave the cup to His disciples and said, Take this and drink from it. This is My Blood which I will shed so your sins, and the sins of the whole world, can be forgiven. -- Matthew 26:27-28 Jesus, at Mass You are with us in a special way. When we receive Holy Communion, You come into our hearts. You help us to be good. You help us to be happy. Thank You. Amen.

The Twelfth Station Jesus Dies on the Cross It was about three o clock when Jesus cried out in a loud voice, Father, into your hands I give My spirit. After He said this, Jesus died on the cross. -- Luke 23:44-46 Jesus, You died on the cross to forgive our sins. You love us very much, and You want to be with us always. When we sin, we feel far away from You. Keep us close to You always. Help us not to sin. Amen.

The Thirteenth Station Jesus Is Taken Down from the Cross After Jesus arose from the dead, He appeared to His disciples and said to them, Now, you must go everywhere and tell people who I am and that I love them. --Matthew 28:16-20 Jesus, You are always with us. We are never alone. You know our names and everything we do. Jesus, help us to know You and tell others about You. Amen.

The Fourteenth Station Jesus is Laid in the Tomb When it was evening, a disciple of Jesus named Joseph went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. He wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb which he had cut out of rock. -- Matthew 27:57-60 Jesus, sometimes we feel sad and alone. When we do wrong, we feel bad. Help us to love You with all our heart. Jesus, thank you for dying for our sins. Amen.
