Spirituality & Meditation YES!+ Upgrade Shake up your yesplus experience with an awesome one day yesplus upgrade program that ll rock your socks off! Art of Silence Course This silent yet festive retreat is designed to enhance self-discovery, provide deep rest for the mind and body, and revive energy and enthusiasm. Healthy food for the body, silence for the mind, meditation for the soul. It s the ultimate rest. I caught a glimpse of who I really am, how beautiful and peaceful. I discovered that what I d been looking for has always been with me courage, clarity, happiness and peace. Eda Art of Meditation (optional) Learn Sahaj Samadhi, a simple and effortless meditation technique that provides a daily recharge of body, mind, and spirit. You ll take this personalized practice home and be able to apply it at any time to plug out and recharge! Selfless Service The service component of YES!+ Winter Break is an opportunity to experience human values in action! The service projects will give us a chance to see rural areas and urban areas in India. Here are two examples of service projects we will have: Provide Supplies to Rural Schools Many children in India never go to school, especially kids in the countryside who are often placed into child labor because of the needs of their family. The Art of Living Foundation s volunteers have worked hard to create schools for rural children who are often the first generation in their family to receive an education. We will have a chance to meet and contribute to their education. Where Macbooks and Ipods touches are the norm for us, these children don t even have pens and paper. We will be delivering basic school supplies and necessities directly to the children. This will be an extraordinary and enriching experience, some have even called it life-changing!
Tree Planting in Bangalore There are a lot of shortages all over the world, you will see this in India: the heat, the overpopulation, the pollution. We ll get to experience first- hand the realities of global warming in a developing country and do something about it! Bangalore used to be a tree-filled city but because of industrialization and urbanization (it s now known as the Silicon Valley of India), the city is booming with development, and the realities of global warming are everywhere. We will be doing a tree-planting project in the middle of Bangalore city, introducing more oxygen and green back into a city that used to be known for its greenery. Sight-Seeing & Celebration Experience the richness and spirituality of Indian Culture! 1 Get a special Ayurveda consultation (pulse checkup, lifestyle consultation) and receive a complimentary marma massage 2 Participate in a special wellness homa for the yesplus Winter Break participants a unique Indian ceremony and blessing 3 Visit a Vedic School where young men get trained in Sanskrit chanting 4 Explore temples and streets, taste yummy food and shop in Bangalore City 5 Travel to the beautiful city of Mysore 6 We will have musical events throughout our stay and plenty of opportunities for celebration! Meet Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (this is subject to change, based on his schedule)
