In September, the priests began inviting the children who attend the 9:30 Mass to the front pews on the right hand side (as you look from the pews to the altar). We have been reserving those first 3-4 rows of those pews for the children and we will continue to do this for every 9:30am Mass. The more children and families we have sitting there, the more pews we will reserve. The priests will continue to invite your children to sit there during the homily every Sunday. Please encourage your child to sit there at the homily as it can help them to understand the Mass better. "Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! This scripture passage came to mind this week as I looked at all the many things that have been happening in the collaborative. I want to thank all of you who generously donate your time to help our parishes to prepare to take the next step. As Catholics, all of thanksgiving begins in the Eucharist. The word Eucharist means thanksgiving. It is only by giving thanks to God in the Eucharist every week for all that he has done and is doing in one s life that we can then appreciate what He is inviting us into. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith in God s infinite love. Both parishes have begun their respective Grand Annual collection. Thank you to all of you who have contributed thus far. Your sacrifice and generosity are what allow our parish to carry out the mission Christ entrusts to us. Next weekend we are having our Memorial Mass for those who have been buried from our parishes this year. At St. Elizabeth, this will be the 4pm Saturday Mass and at St. Mary it will be the 10:15am Mass. If you can make it to one of those Masses, it would be wonderful sign of prayerful support for those families who are still mourning the loss of their loved one. As we enter into the cold and flu season, we will be distributing Holy Communion only under one species. Currently we are distributing the Eucharist under the species of bread and wine. Now that we are in the heightened season of cold and flu we will be distributing the Eucharist only under the appearance of the bread. Finally, the collaborative offices are getting more organized day by day. Please come and visit us we enjoy seeing parishioners from the parish. May you have a blessed week. In Christ, Fr. Bennett

Prayer for Families, We bless your name, O Lord, for sending your own incarnate Son, to become part of a family, so that, as he lived its life, he would experience its worries and its joys. We ask you, Lord, to protect and watch over this family, so that in the strength of your grace its members may enjoy prosperity, possess the priceless gift of your peace, and, as the Church alive in the home, bear witness in this world to your glory. We ask this thought Christ our Lord. Amen. Prayer to St. Michael: Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
