Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). On this Father s Day Sunday, welcome to the worship our heavenly Father! We are glad you re here and we hope you are blessed by us and by God this morning. Thanks for being here! This morning Pastor Michael will continue his Summer on the Hillside series as we look at Jesus sermon on the mount from Matthew 5:21-26. We also have the privilege of participating in the baptism of Mason Lee Ringgaard. Next week we will be having our VBS kids and leaders participate in the service and Pastor Michael s message will focus on the fact that we have been Rescued by Jesus. We will also participate in the baptism of Theodore Wayne Hoffman. VBS PICNIC: Next Sunday, June 24, we will have a number of guests joining us for worship as part of our Vacation Bible School program. We want to show them some good Pease community hospitality with a potluck picnic in the park after our morning worship service. Hot dogs, buns, beverages, and table service will all be provided. Please bring a salad or dessert to share and meet some new friends! Ben Gandy has now officially been extended the call to be our first Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship. You are welcome to send him a note of encouragement to him and his wife, Lindsay. Their address is: 3110 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 46546. You can also email him at: bengandy10@gmail.com ONE TWENTY-FIVE CAMPAIGN: Thank you to everyone who came last week to discuss the campaign and turn in your pledges. We are hoping for an even stronger turnout this week. A member of the team will be available for you to meet with from 6-8PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We are only looking for pledges there is no need for you to bring your checkbook at this time. The deacons gratefully acknowledge the June 10, 2018 receipts: General Fund-$4,612 and Benevolent Fund-$1,269.50. Your offering next Sunday, June 24, will be received for Operation Kid to Kid-Haiti, which what the VBS kids will bring their money for this week. SUNDAY SCHOOL COORDINATOR: Pease CRC is in need of someone to coordinate our Sunday School Program. This would include working with class lists, ordering curriculum, and working with the education team to find and resource teachers for Sunday School and catechism. If you might be interested in considering this possibility, please contact Pastor Michael. Pray for our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua and CRCNA staff and partner missionaries who have been serving in that country. Since the middle of April, there have been nationwide demonstrations against the government of Nicaragua. As the demonstrations have broadened violence has escalated through gangs and criminals that have taken advantage of the situation. Please pray for your missionaries as they process unplanned travel, uncertain circumstances, and an unknown future for their ministry. Pray also for the people in Nicaragua who struggle each day with providing for basic needs like food and water and face danger from increasing violence and lawlessness. Pray for peace, resolution, and lasting change.
