Announcements July 6, 2014 Calling His disciples to Him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more in the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything all she had to live on" Mark 12:43-44. Have I fallen for the lie that I just don' have enough to give, despite the fact that the greatest examples of giving in Scripture were poor people? ---Stewardship Committee Volunteers are still needed to teach Sunday school on Sunday August 24, and September 7, this summer. This is a great activity to do with a friend or as a partner with one of the youth. Lesson plans, including a power point, music and activity will be provided, or you can plan your own. Please see Michelle Wilkinson or sign up on the clipboard. The 1 st Presbyterian Church will host a family campout on Aug 15-17, 2014. Mark your calendars for this fun event. We will be camping at the Mayweed Loop in the Prairie Flower Campground on the east side of Saylorville Reservoir. This loop holds up to 8 campers or 16 tents or a combination. This loop has a gate that closes so the kids can ride their bikes and trikes. There is a shelter in the middle of our loop for our exclusive use. A sign-up sheet will be on an easel in the Narthex. The $288 cost will be divided up between those families who camp so the more that go the cheaper it gets and the more fun we have. Approx. cost will be $20 to $28. Camping or not, the entire church family is invited to come down on Saturday evening for the famous shis-ka-bob BBQ pot luck. Just bring your skewers and your favorite ka-bob ingredients to share. After the meal we will have evening vespers around the campfire. Contact Paul Podhajsky if you have questions. 753-3672 or paul@podhajsky.com. Camp is fun! Swimming, campfires, games, devotions, and meeting new friends are just a few of the things you can do at camp this summer. There are camps for all ages, including families and grandparents and their grandchild(ren) together. See all the camp offerings at www.lakeshorecenteratokoboji.org. Campership forms are available in the Narthex.
