The world starts at a very early age to indoctrinate our young people with values and opinions which are both non-biblical and detrimental to their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. In order for our youth to succeed in life, we need to provide them with a Christ-focused view on Sex, Love & Relationships. Thus we invite you to our second annual retreat. In fact there are two separate retreats, one for the youth up to 17 years old, and another for young adults. The youth edition is suitable for young people as young as 13 years, however parental discretion is advised. This is a fun-filled, educational weekend that teaches youth all about healthy Christian relationships with the opposite gender. Our guest speaker is Novia Reid, an author and public speaker, with a passion for life and young people. Over the weekend young people will be taught the dynamics of creating, assessing and maintaining healthy relationships that will lead to permanent, God-honoring marriages in the future. The young adult retreat is exclusively for those 18 years and older. We recognize that the vast majority of young adults would like to get married at some stage. This is probably NOT the retreat to meet your future spouse. But it is the retreat to help you: 1. Prepare yourself to be the person someone else would like to spend the rest of their life with. 2. Learn how to ascertain who is worth dating and who should be avoided. How to stop the destructive cycle of always choosing the wrong person. 3. Date and prepare yourself for marriage in a way that honors God and respects yourself and the person you have chosen to be with. The training will be conducted by Dr. Annie Perez, a clinical psychologist and counselor, who has vast amounts of valuable information in this area. She is a dynamic and powerful presenter who is very engaging and interactive. The contact of the material to be discussed is strictly for adults only. Date: March 4-6, 2016. Venue: Pine Lake Retreat. Cost: $45. More Information: Marlene queenmrb@yahoo.com Registration: www.floridaconference.com/youth/events

Andres Peralta was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic the last child for his parents Julia and Hermes Peralta. His early years were spent between the Dominican Republic, Florida and New York. While in New York he became an active member of the Yonkers SDA church, it was during this time God called him into full time ministry. He answered the call of God and enrolled at Antillean University in Puerto Rico, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Theology. While studying at Antillean he was actively involved in ministry serving as Campus Ministries and Evangelism Coordinator, as well as Assistant Pastor. He spent his summers serving as a Bible worker and Chaplain, taking every opportunity to spread the good news of the gospel. After completing his studies at Antillean Pastor Peralta moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan where he pursued his Master of Divinity with emphasis in Old Testament at Andrews University. He simultaneously served as the Youth Pastor for Sp. Maranatha and Sp. Central churches in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Upon completing his Master Pastor Peralta accepted a call to join The Greater New York Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church where he has served for almost ten years in varying capacity. He served as a district pastor for four diverse churches during his first five years. He was subsequently appointed as The Conference Youth director and later re-elected to this position where he currently serves. While serving as Youth Director Pastor Peralta also concurrently completed his Doctor of Ministry from Andrews University in Team Work and Urban Youth Ministry. Dr. Peralta has a passion to empower children, youths, young adults and adults to grow in Christ, look to Jesus as their ultimate example, practice servant leadership and reveal God's infinite love as they live as Jesus lived. He is very energetic with a great sense of humor and loves to serve. His motto in life is Born to serve" and he takes advantage of every opportunity to serve. Among his many other volunteer roles, he currently serves as a Chaplain at Brookdale Hospital. His interests include traveling the world sharing the gospel, playing sports and spending time with his family.

In the recent studies that we have with the players, we integrate some video to enhance the bible study. For example, during the past couple weeks, we studies the origin How Many Bible studies interests are you following up? Although the players show interest in the bible studies, they do not ask for individual bible study. Majority of the players are baptized members of the church. We will continue to monitor the players and their interest in the bible studies. How is this positively affecting the Adventist team members? The Adventist team members are very involved in the church activities. This projects a good image for the other non-adventist players. How is this impacting your life and relationship with God? This activity gives me more passion to work and help the youth and the church. I believe that I have a greater interest for evangelism as a result of this activity.
