WORSHIP LEADER: Exactly. [Bottom Line] God s way is perfect! Let s review our memory verse. God s way (point both hands up) is perfect (two thumbs up), 2 Samuel 22:31. (Open your hands like a book.) Let s try that together. CHILDREN and WORSHIP LEADER: God s way (point both hands up) is perfect (two thumbs up), 2 Samuel 22:31. (Open your hands like a book.) (Repeat several times.) WORSHIP LEADER: You are all AMAZING at that verse! Have you shown your parents yet? How about your brother and sister? How about all your good friends? Make sure you show them today! Are you ready to sing another song with me? (Pause.) You are? Let s sing. Lead children in singing God s Way. Awesome singing friends. Now, remind me: Whose way is perfect? CHILDREN and WORSHIP LEADER: [Bottom Line] God s way is perfect! Introductory Sketch What You Need: Cell Phone, small table HOST: (Pace behind the telephone while talking to yourself.) You can do it. You can do it. You can do it. (Pick up phone slowly and close eyes. Right before it gets to your ear, slam the phone back on the table and shake your head.) I can t do it. I can t do it. I can t do it! (Open eyes and see audience.) Oh. Hi, guys. How s it going? (Pause.) So, did you just see what I was trying to do? (Pause and begin pacing again.) I m kind of nervous right now. Have you ever felt nervous? It s like your tummy is doing backflips over and over and over. (Stop pacing and stand behind phone.) It s this. (Point to phone.) This is making me nervous. Well, not the phone, but who I want to call on the phone. I really want to call my best friend. See, I want Madi to go on our great camping adventure with me and my dad. But what if what if she doesn t want to go? I mean, I think we would have fun. We like to do things together. And we both like marshmallows over the campfire. I just wish I knew the right way to ask her! Hmmm (get an idea) but wait I just remembered that you all are going to hear an awesome story today where someone needed to know the right way to go and it turned out awesome! You better get ready to listen and I m going to go work a little more on what I m going to say to my friend, Madi, when I call her. I think this just might work out okay. Bible Story What You Need: Bible, staff STORYTELLER: Hi, everyone! It is so SO good to see you all again. How are you today? (Pause.) Do you all want to hear a really AWESOME part of Moses great adventure today? (Pause.) You do? Well good, cause I m telling you, it really is AWESOME. And the story is from my favorite book, the Bible! (Hold up Bible.) Last week we learned how Moses saved all the Israelites! And there were a lot of them! He rescued them just like God said He would. Man, Moses really found out that God s way really is perfect! He did just as He said he would do. But the Bible tells us there was still a mean Pharaoh in the picture. Pharaoh, who was the king, had his army chasing after Moses and the rescued Israelites. Everyone say Run, Moses, run! (Listen.) (Pretend to be running or you can have the kids pretend to be running in place) Great job! Run Moses! Run Israelites! Let s try that one more time. Everyone say, Run Moses (Listen.) Great job! Say, Run Israelites! Friends, this is where the story gets really, really good. So, while Moses and the Israelites were running away, they came to a stop, because they could no longer go forward. Stop at the edge of the blue paper. (Lean in and build suspense.) There was water in front of them and the mean army was right behind them! This was not just a little puddle of water or a creek or even a lake. No, this was a sea lots of water! Yikes! Everyone, let s pretend we are the Israelites and look in front of us. See that water? (Pause.) Say, Yikes! and put your hands on your face like you are worried. Ready? (Demonstrate hands on face like scared and worried.) CHILDREN and STORYTELLER: YIKES! STORYTELLER: Oh, no, friends, look behind us. Do you see that mean army coming after us? (Demonstrate looking behind and being scared.) Everyone say YIKES! (Pause.) I wonder what s going to happen to Moses and the Israelites?! The Israelites got worried, because they thought this was the end! But what do you guys think? Do you think it s the end of God s adventure for Moses and the people? (Pause.) No? (Smile.) You re right! Here comes the awesome part! Moses told the Israelites to be brave and that God would fight for them. Then he took out his staff and stretched out his hand. (Demonstrate with staff.) And all of a sudden, the water started to move apart and leave a path they could walk on! Move the 2 sheets of blue paper apart and make a path. It was a miracle! Moses and the Israelites hurried down the path God made for them. Walk on the path. Well, as soon as God s people made it across, the water filled back in and they were safe. CHILDREN and STORYTELLER: [Bottom Line] God s way is perfect! STORYTELLER: Great job! Let s say it one more time. Whose way is perfect? [Bottom Line] God s way is perfect!
