THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Minister: O Zion, messenger of good news, shout from the mountaintops!
People: Shout it louder, O Jerusalem. Shout, and do not be afraid. Tell the towns of Judah, your God is coming! (Isaiah 40.9)
Minister: He will tend His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs in His arms; He will carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. (Isaiah 40:11)
People: Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel, which means, God with us. (Isaiah 7.14; Matthew 1.23(b))
Prayer of Confession All: Almighty God, You who shaped out of nothing all that is, forgive us for returning emptyhanded.
You who called forth light, forgive our preference for the dark!
You who sent John to be a voice crying, forgive our unwillingness to say anything at all!
Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, come, Lord Jesus.
Have mercy on us, O God. Lord, hear our prayers.
SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION
Words of Assurance and Pardon of the Gospel (Zephaniah 3.14-15)
Minister: Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
The LORD has taken away the judgments against you; He has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil.

Come to Bethlehem, and see Him whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the newborn King. Gloria in excelsis Deo, Gloria in excelsis Deo.

Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain, That Jesus Christ is born.
Verse 1 While shepherds kept their watching O er silent flocks by night, Behold, throughout the heavens There shone a holy light
Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain, That Jesus Christ is born.
