As many of you know, our caterer, Heather Gauthier, has resigned for personal reasons. Her last meal for us will be on Wednesday evening, December 19. At that meal time we will collect a love gift for her to show our appreciation of all the good meals she has prepared for us and for her happy smiles! Robert Hudson will be preparing our meals beginning with the first Wednesday in the new year, January 2. LOVE GIFT for HBC STAFF: We are approaching the time when we take a few minutes to reflect on events of the past year. 2018 brought many changes for HBC, yet our remaining staff continues to do their work well and pick up additional responsibilities so that our worship and all programs continue to run smoothly. The Personnel Committee asks that you consider making a contribution to a love gift to show our appreciation to staff for all they have done and continue to do. Please put your contribution in an envelope and place in the offering plate, give to Darlene in the office, or give to a member of the Personnel Committee. Write "love gift" on the envelope or on the memo line of your check. We would like contributions by December 16th. Thank you, Personnel Committee: Jane Austin, Tracy Hudson, Gary Powell, Lindsey Sandford, Scott Seymour FINANCE: New Info..Contributions/donations may be made thru Paypal at www.hamptonbaptist.org. SENIORS: Swinging Seniors The Swinging Seniors would like to thank Chester & Mary Etta Brown for a lovely Christmas Luncheon at their beautiful home in Gloucester! Swinging Seniors would like to thank WMU GROUP: Martha Ailor Group will be working at the Gift-Wrapping Booth for their mission project for December! Thank you, ladies for helping with the booth at Patrick Henry Mall. Lucille Rollins Group TBA WEDNESDAY FAMILY NIGHT DINNER: December 19 th (Heather s Last Meal) Greeters: 1 st Wed. - Betty Miller & Virginia Kanoy 2 nd Wed. - Vivian Deal 3 rd Wed. - Roy & Jane Austin 4 th Wed. - Jane & Pat Garvey 5 th Wed. - Sarah Puckett Windows into the Future: On Tuesday evening, the Deacons unanimously approved a motion to set up a special fund for repair and replacement of the windows in our old building. Look around the building and you will see broken windows, rotting sills, windows that are about to fall out, and bulging walls created by broken lintels. The need for new windows is urgent! We are inviting contributions to a window fund to bring our windows up to date, thus enhancing the appearance of our building and cutting the cost of heating and air conditioning. To replace a complete window (the window, the sill, and the lintel) is $1400, but we certainly welcome contributions of any amount to the window fund. This would be a great way for Sunday School classes, WMU groups, youth groups, or families to honor or remember a loved one. You may write a check for any amount to Hampton Baptist Church, put Window Fund on the memo line, and place in the offering plate.
