Oversee the staff and the chairs of the departments of Old Testament, New Testament, and Theology, leading and mentoring the faculty, monitoring program development and teaching schedules, assessing progress, and representing the division to other offices of the university. Carry a half-time teaching load. Professor of Biblical & Theological Studies Northwestern College St. Paul, Minnesota 2004 2010 Department Chair Responsibilities (2004-08): Oversee the Department of Biblical & Theological Studies in terms of course offerings, faculty teaching schedules, and hiring of adjunct instructors. Review and mentor faculty. Manage the department s administrative assistant in day-today responsibilities and in the maintenance of department records. Carry a two-thirds teaching load of courses. Interview prospective faculty members for all academic departments of the College. Major Accomplishments: Hired the department s first full-time administrative assistant and directed the establishment of formal department record-keeping. Led the department in developing a Philosophy minor and encouraged the department in its development of a MATS degree. Dean of Enrollment Services, Director of Graduate Studies, and Professor of B&TS Northwestern College St. Paul, Minnesota 2003 2004 Responsibilities: Oversee the Institution s offices for Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, Institutional Research, and Church Relations, communicating the College s vision and goals to those departments and interfacing with other offices on behalf of enrollment concerns. Develop graduate programs for the College, working with academic department chairs to establish quality curriculum, to recruit expert faculty, and to serve adult students with professional degrees offered via an alternative educational venue. Teach one course per term and be involved as a member of the newly renamed Department of Biblical & Theological Studies (B&TS). Major Accomplishments: Promoted to full Professor. Established the Institution s first master s program a Master in Organizational Leadership getting it through the permissions processes of the College (administration, faculty, and Board of Trustees), the State of Minnesota, and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (regional accrediting association). As part of the Academic Deans Council, helped with the administrative restructuring of the College in its adoption of a provost model. American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Program Mentored at California State University Hayward, California 2002 2003 Responsibilities: Serve as an executive staff member on the president s cabinet and on the provost s council of deans. Represent the University at meetings and conferences, reporting back to the president. Serve on the University s Faculty Development Committee. Attend three week-long ACE seminars on higher education issues, read extensively in the field, and engage in activities to enhance knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing higher education. Major Accomplishments: Annotated the CSU-Hayward faculty development center library. Led my ACE Fellows leadership team in creating a Web site called Bibliofile, which provides annotations of about 300 books on a variety of educational topics, the names and publisher links of about 200 educational periodicals, and web links to dozens of professional education organizations and about 40 different kinds of educational development programs.

Dean of Admissions & Records and Associate Professor of Bible Northwestern College St. Paul, Minnesota 1999 2003 Responsibilities: Serve as the Institution s chief enrollment officer and chief records officer. Communicate the College s vision and goals to the Admissions Office and Registrar s Office and interface with other offices of the College on behalf of recruitment and records concerns. Supervise the leadership efforts of the Director of Recruitment, the Registrar, the Director of Church Relations, and the Director of Institutional Research. Ensure consistency of admissions standards in all of the institution s various educational venues (e.g., traditional day school, degree completion program, distance education). Teach one course per term and be involved as a member of the Department of Bible. Major Accomplishments: Chaired a task force to explore and make recommendations for coordinating the standards and policies of the College s alternative educational venues. Chair the task force that developed the general layout for the Eagle Scholars Honors Program, which began Fall 2002. Assisted in developing an enrollment/retention projection model for the College s traditional day school. Helped increase the College s size and retention rates ahead of the projections from 1363 students in Fall 1997 to 1715 students in Fall 2003. Maintained cost-effective recruiting of students at an average cost of $300 less per student each year (1997 2003) than other Christian colleges in the nation. Dean of Admissions and Assistant Professor of Bible Northwestern College St. Paul, Minnesota 1997 99 Responsibilities: Oversee the recruitment and admissions operations of the traditional day school program, communicating the vision and goals of the College to the Admissions staff and relaying the needs of Admissions to the College. Serve as the primary evaluator of application files and oversee management of the department s budget. Teach one course per term and be involved as a member of the Department of Bible. Major Accomplishments: Served on the self-study steering committee preparing the College for accreditation review. Assisted in transitioning the College from a quarter to a semester system by working on the school calendar, helping produce a brochure about the transition, and spear-heading the production of a registration guide for students to use in planning their last year on a quarter schedule. Contributed to the development of the College s five-year strategic plan, particularly as it relates to enrollment matters. Applied for academic promotion and was named to Associate Professor effective 1999. Assistant Professor of Bible Northwestern College St. Paul, Minnesota 1994 97 Responsibilities: Carry a full load of teaching duties including such courses as Christian Discipleship, Principles of Biblical Interpretation, Christian Thought, Biblical History & Literature of the Old Testament, Biblical History & Literature of the New Testament, Exposition of Luke, Exposition of Acts, Theology, Freshman Seminar, and various independent study arrangements with individual students. Participate in the regular meetings and activities of the Department of Bible. Serve as academic advisor for 10-20 students in Christian Education and Youth Ministries majors. Serve the Institution on faculty committees. Major Accomplishments: Assisted in restructuring the Bible curriculum in 1995 96. Led a group of students on the Summer 1996 study tour of Israel and Jordan.
