New Service Announcement: The Longest Night Service will be held on Friday, December 21 st at 6:30pm. Sometimes it's hard to experience the joy of Christmas, as we sing, "Joy to the World, the Lord is come." When we have suffered losses, sadness and grief, it takes the "Merry" out of "Merry Christmas." In this service of readings, prayers and songs, we will offer it all to the Christ child. He was born to bear our infirmities and carry our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4). The LWML is hosting a Baby Shower for Baby Jesus on Monday, December 17 th from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Bring unwrapped gifts. All the gifts will benefit the Pregnancy Care Center of Catawba Valley. Drop in for light refreshments and great fellowship.

In order to show them some proper support from Concordia, the December 5th Sunday offering will be designated for their work. There will be envelopes at the doors beginning today for Fifth Sunday Mission Offering. Your generous gift designated for them anytime during December will be most helpful to their support. Thank you for considering a Christmas gift for this mission work. Kids In Worship!!! Advent! In Advent we get ready for Jesus to come. Today we light the third candle on the Advent wreath. The JOY candle. It is pink. Some call it the Shepherd s candle. Shepherds are good watchers. Perhaps that is why God chose them to be the first to hear that Christ is born. They shared that good news of great JOY. I am Jesus little lamb, ever glad at heart I am; for my shepherd gently guides me, knows my need and well provides me. Loves me every day the dame, even calls me by my name. Take an Advent coloring card from the welcome stations to color at home with your family. Each week there is a new one. Share with your neighbor to help them get ready for Christmas. To get ready for Christ! For more Advent activities follow the Children s Ministry page on Facebook @ConcordiaKids Belinda Bost, Children s Minister
