ORDER OF WORSHIP FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST Sunday, July 9, 2017 11:00 a.m. PRELUDE WORDS OF WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS OPENING SONG Live to Praise You Day after day You never change; Ever the same, there is hope in Your name; You are the fire that s burning bright; Ever You reign, so we re lifting You high; Ev rybody, ev rybody, come on somebody. 1 Ev rybody shout, make it loud; All of heaven sing, hear the sound; Let the praises ring Your renown; Ev ry day we live, Ev ry day we live to praise You. Breath after breath we re so alive; Ever we re changed Cause You rescued our lives; The first and the last, no one in between; Ever the King, You re the song that we sing. Ev rybody, ev rybody, come on somebody. (Repeat 1) Bridge The joy of the Lord is our strength. 2 Ev rybody shout, make it loud; All of heaven sing, hear the sound; Let the praises ring Your renown; Ev ry day we live, Ev ry day we live to praise; (Repeat Bridge) Ev ry day we live to praise You. INVOCATION CONFESSION OF SINS AND WORDS OF FORGIVENESS Pastor: Jesus invites you: Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. People: Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Pastor: Let us come to Jesus in a time of silent prayer. We reflect upon our need for Jesus rest and forgiveness. Pastor: Almighty God, heavenly Father, People: We confess that we are burdened by our sin. What we want to do, we don t do. What we end up doing, we know that we are not supposed to do. We feel trapped. Your Word teaches us that we cannot escape our sinfulness. Only in Your mercy is there rest for our souls and relief from the burdens of our hearts. Father, fill us again with the assurance of the cross and the empty tomb, that we may receive anew the victory that is ours through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. 1

Pastor: The burdens that are so heavy for you are light for Jesus! As you have now confessed your sins, it is my privilege and joy to announce to you that Jesus has taken away your burdens by His death and resurrection. According to His own command, I, as a servant of the Word and as Your pastor, forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. People: Amen. THE NICENE CREED I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. OUR GIFTS AND TITHES FOR GOD / REGISTRATION OFFERTORY SONG....... He Reigns It s the song of the redeemed rising from the African plain. It s the song of the forgiven drowning out the Amazon rain. The song of Asian believers filled with God s holy fire. It s ev ry tribe, ev ry tongue, ev ry nation; A love song born of a grateful choir. It s all God s children singing, Glory, glory, Hallelujah! He reigns, He reigns! Let it rise above the four winds, caught up in the heavenly sound. Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals To the faithful gathered underground. Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation, some were meant to persist. Of all the bells rung from a thousand steeples, none rings truer than this: And all the powers of darkness tremble at what they ve just heard Cause all the powers of darkness can t drown out a single word. 2

OUR PRAYERS & OUR LORD S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. WORDS OF INSTITUTION SHARING OF THE PEACE OUR LORD S SUPPER Pastor: The peace of the Lord be with you always. People: And also with you. AGNUS DEI Lamb of God 3

DISTRIBUTION DISTRIBUTION SONGS Good, Good Father I've heard a thousand stories Of what they think You re like, But I've heard the tender whisper Of love in the dead of night. You tell me that You re pleased, And that I'm never alone. You're a good, good Father; It's who You are, It's who You are, It's who You are. And I'm loved by You; It's who I am, It's who I am, It's who I am. I've seen many searching for answers Far and wide, But I know we're all searching for answers Only You provide. Because You know just what we need Before we say a word. Bridge You are perfect in all of Your ways. You are perfect in all of Your ways. You are perfect in all of Your ways to us. (Repeat) Verse 3 Love so undeniable I, I can hardly speak. Peace so unexplainable I, I can hardly think As You call me deeper still, As You call me deeper still, As You call me deeper still Into love, love, love. Come Just as You Are Come just as you are, Hear the Spirit call. Come just as you are. Come and see, Come, receive. Come and live forever. Come just as you are, Hear the Spirit call. Come just as you are. Come receive Christ the King. Come and live forevermore. Verse Life everlasting, And strength for today; Taste the Living water, And never thirst again.
