Oak Grove (Marble) Baptist Church Ladies Form WMU Thirteen mission-minded ladies from Oak Grove (Marble) Baptist Church met Tuesday, February 10, at the home of Medra Palmer for the purpose of organizing a Woman s Missionary Union for their church. Guest speaker Dr. Jeanette F. Hedrick, WMU Director for Truett Baptist Association, stressed the six goals of WMU based on the Great Commission in Mathew 28: 19-20: to pray for missions, to learn about missions, to give to missions; to do missions, to develop a missions lifestyle and to support the local church and denomination. Hedrick also covered the different age level groups of WMU: Mission Friends, Children in Action, GAs, RAs, Acteens and adult women. Annie Armstrong North American Mission offering, Lottie Moon International Mission offering and WMU NC were discussed.
