The GSPC Sunday School is once again supporting a family in need consisting of a mother, father, 2 boys (9th grade & 5th grade and 2 girls 8th grade & 3rd grade) during the 2018/19 Sunday School year. We will be giving them a Christmas they will remember. A sign-up sheet of requested items such as: gift cards for gas, grocery store, Target, movie tickets and Golden Corral can be found on the table at back of the sanctuary. A meal & gift basket will, also, be provided for Easter. If you wish to make a monetary donation, please see Krystle Anderson. The offering we collect each Sunday during Sunday School goes toward the family as well and any donations large or small is always appreciated. PLEASE PLAN TO CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD AT THE CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP SERVICE AT 5:00 P.M., DECEMBER 24th + + + + + A white gift offering for the food pantry will be taken up (simply bring non-perishable food items wrapped in white tissue paper to bring forward during the offering). Any monetary gifts will support the Deacon s fund. Praises & Prayer Requests (Deacon on Call - Beth Languis - Dec. 2nd-15th).... For those with cancer * Please pray for Carole Beach s daughter-in-law, Morgan s sister, Courtney, who has been recently diagnosed with leukemia. She will be receiving chemo treatments for the next month and then be reevaluated. Continued prayers for Terry Hostetler s brother-in-law, Tom, who has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, and is receiving radiation treatments. Continued prayers for Kevin Hanley, friend of Sally Docter, who is suffering with stage 4 colon cancer and is now receiving chemo treatments, after which he will receive radiation treatments. Please pray for his wife Lacy and their two young sons at home as well. Please continue to pray for Brady Worrell, husband of Ivette Bender s niece, MacKenzie Worrell, who is now at home. He had the stem cell transplant on September 8th, and was supposed to remain in treatment at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha until December 17th, but the medical staff were so pleased with the results of the transplant with no signs of rejection, and that the Philadelphia chromosome, which was the chromosome that carried the leukemia gene is completely gone, he was allowed to go home early. He still does need to return to UNMC for blood tests twice a week for several months, however. Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue to pray for Dean Sydow, friend of Bill Rainey, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Continued prayers for Renae Odell s mother-in-law in Amarillo, TX who is suffering with cancer which has spread to her liver, and will likely need to have radiation. Page 5
.... For those with other health concerns & praises * Please lift up Shannon and Shelby Warrick in your prayers as they prepare for tonsillectomies on Dec. 18th & 20th respectively. Your prayers for a good surgery, recovery, and long-term benefit are appreciated. Please keep Jeff & Laura in your prayers as well. * Please continue to pray for Renae Odell s dad, Shannon Sellers, who has moved to Lincoln as of Friday, November 30th. She and her brother Zan have moved him into Grammercy Hill Apartments. Pray that he adjusts quickly to his new surroundings. Also, please pray for my brothers wife, Diane Sellers, who has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She had a heart catheterization, but if this fails, she will need surgery. * Jean Baker is recuperating from knee surgery and is undergoing physical therapy at Southlake Village room 309. Please lift her up in your prayers as her knee heals and strengthens. Visitors welcome. Continued prayers for Chris Hartley s finance Kenny s mother who was admitted to St. Elizabeth Hospital with health issues. Continued prayers for Dick Hilligoss who has moved to the Holmes Lake Manor, room 7. Pray for patience and a quick adjustment to his new surroundings..... For those who mourn * Prayers for son-in-law Joel and daughter Lauren & family on the death of Grammy Susie Guenther, and special prayers for Todd, husband of Susie for comfort from Jesus..Dave & Anna Hanselmann Continued prayers for peace and comfort for Stan & Sally Docter on the death of their friend, Kathie Pape, who had suffered with many health issues. *Indicates new prayers or updated information since last publication. Vonnie and Paul Wood both thank you all for your cards, prayers and support during the time of his emergency surgery and healing. Paul is doing much better. All the infection is gone, he is off all the antibiotics and he just started back to work full time, most days. His colostomy reversal surgery will likely occur in mid February.
