It is wonderful to greet one another and catch up on our news, but will you please hold off on this until after the service or take the conversations outside the Nave? Thank you for your consideration. Taize Prayer Service Each Second Sunday, at 4:00 pm, Westminster Presbyterian hosts a Taize Prayer Service for the community. Taize prayer is a meditative prayer service that incorporates simple, repetitive song and chant, scripture readings, and periods of group silence in a setting of peace and soft light that fosters communion with God. Through Taize, participants can worship in a community setting, yet remain open to the voice of God and discover the prayer within themselves. 3

Cradle Song May God cradle you in his arms like a mother. Stay close to him and reflect his love. Like a mirror, a glass, or pure mountain water reflecting the great blue, like eyes reflecting another s gaze, reflect him. We have no light of our own except for the light awakened by that great spark, that flame of love that gives us birth. We are like glass, fragile, easily broken, and yet the home the globe of the untamed flame, that tongue of fire. Poems by Tammy Iralu Renascence I could live again. I could say: This body has hung against the tree long enough. No longer will I let the sun leather my flesh until it crackles like poorly cured leather. I could live again. I could be the seedling, uncoated, cracked open and no long closed in on itself. I could be the seedling spilling like wine poured out from the leather flask, like anthers stirring the blossom. 8
