Page 4 River Roads Chapter Harley Owners Group ROAD CAPTAIN REPORT -JIM WOLF Happy New Year! I hope you were good so Santa brought you lots of things. If you were bad, then I hope it was a Good kind of Bad. Anyway you slice it, this is 2011 and a new year to make up for anything you might have done during 2010. Just wanted to let you know we are planning another exciting year of events. Of course, some of the regular poker runs, parties, events, etc. will be on the calendar. We will also be adding a few new ones. The event planning starts just after you get this newsletter at the chapter officers meeting. Of which, any HOG member is invited to attend. A list of events will be presented at the chapter meeting in February. I look forward to serving as your Head Road Captain along with John Deemer as secondary or standby or Ass t. Road Captain. I m not sure what is his official title is but the main difference between John s role and my role is that I get the blame if a Road Captain duty is not performed. So, here is looking forward to a great riding season. Screw It, Let s Ride! Jim Membership Update -Dave McFadyen ASK BRYAN?? Members have the opportunity to email a question either to Bryan or a HOG officer to hand off to Bryan and Bryan would provide his answer or commentary. Both the question and response would be printed in the Ask Bryan section, limited to three per month. So any questions you may have, let the officers know so we can get some answers in the next addition. We currently have 214 members in the River Roads chapter. All memberships will expire this month. Local dues is due each calendar year. No news submitted from TNT HOG requires that all members of local chapters maintain a current membership in the national organization. National HOG dues expires on the anniversary of the date YOU joined the national organization. Please check YOUR expiration date. We would hate to lose you. The January Mixer is the time to pay your local dues or (if you don t want to stand in line at the party) print the form and mail it to me or turn it in at TNT. Dave What s happening at TNT!!!!!!

Verify your National HOG Membership information or renew your National HOG Membership online at members.hog.com. Remember: to join River Roads HOG Chapter 0912, you must first be a current National HOG Member. Winter has finally settled in. My ride has had the fluids changed, the battery tender connected, the cover thrown over and then put to bed for a long winter s nap. This is the time of year to reflect on the rides of the past year, the folks we have met along the way, and the friends we have made. That is what riding and being a HOG member is all about. With the Christmas party over and the chapter positions filled, our thoughts begin turning to the new year ahead. What new rides are being planned? What events will I participate in? Should I go on a weekend ride this year? YOU can make our chapter successful and fun to be a member of. If you haven t been very involved in the past, make the decision to get more involved Assistant Director - John Kladstrup this year. If you ve often thought about participating in an overnight or weekend ride, but have never done so, do it this year. If you ve never attended a state HOG rally, 2011 will be a great year to do that too. For our chapter to be successful, we need it's members to be involved. We ve said it in the past, and we ll say it again, this is YOUR chapter. If you ve been a member, but mainly on the sidelines get involved. Let any of the officers know of your ideas and suggestions we do take your ideas and suggestions seriously. If you have a suggestion for a ride, or a destination, please let us know. We have an entire year ahead of us and a whole lot of calendar dates to fill. We need to hear from you! Have a Happy, and safe, New Year!
