Leader: Oh I must love my neighbors as I love myself. People: Let us put our love into motion as we worship the One who s taught us to love. PRAYER OF PRAISE *HYMN I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art Hymnal #457 *PRAYER OF CONFESSION Loving and forgiving God, we are in conflict! We want to be followers of Christ, but we cling to our own desires and plans. We want to be filled with joy, but we are beset with worry and anxiety. We long for a vibrant prayer life, but our busy lives leave us tired and afraid of solitude. We confess that we succumb to the allures of this world having more, doing more, running faster and harder and all the while, we fail to see the needs of our neighbors and ignore the needs of our own souls. Forgive us, we pray. Renew within us hearts that are open to receive your grace. Refresh our spirits by the cleansing rain of your forgiveness. Rekindle within us faith, compassion and
generosity. We ask this in the name of our Savior and Friend, Jesus Christ. Amen. *ASSURANCE OF PARDON Don Hilkerbaumer *GLORIA PATRI Glory Be to the Father Hymnal #579 BLESSING OF THE CHILDREN Kevin Peterson Lord God, bless your children here, in our neighborhood and in our ministries throughout the coming week. Show them your goodness. Give them your peace for when they are afraid. Teach them to hear your voice. And let these children know You are present as they worship You! Amen. Preparation for hanging the greens will begin between services around 10:15 a.m. Members attending the first service will have an opportunity to help by taking down banners, bringing boxes to the back of the sanctuary, etc. All are invited to stay or return for the lunch at noon. A light lunch will be served after the second service before finishing. Those helping after lunch will be hanging greens, etc. Please join us in fellowship to prepare for the coming of our dear Savior. Operation Christmas Child is almost done for the year! THANK YOU to everyone who has already donated. We are still collecting things to put in boxes, as well as donations to cover the cost of shipping. A donation of $9 covers one box, and last year we packed nearly 200. We will have our Pre-Packing Party on Saturday, November 17 @ 3pm. We will carry everything down to Fellowship Hall, set up tables, and organize all the stuff so we are ready to pack Sunday morning. Then our Packing Party will be Sunday, November 18th, between and after both services starting at 10:15 am. I m excited to see how many we pack!
