MADONNA DEL CASTELLO & WORD OF GOD PARISHES SWISSVALE, PA LOOK FOR THE LIGHTHOUSE MEDIA KIOSK AT BOTH PARISHES Dr. Edward Sri is a renowned theologian, author, and professor at the Augustine Institute. In this presentation, Dr. Sri invites all Christians to embrace the call of Pope Francis to be missionary disciples in today's world. The Diocese of Pittsburgh is initiating the nomination and application process for admitting a new class of interested and qualified Catholic men into the Deacon Formation Program. Prospective applicants should be between 30 and 59 years old, in full communion with the Church, active in their faith, and hold at least a bachelor s degree. They should consult their pastor about submitting a nomination on their behalf. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 15. Applications without a pastor s nomination will not be considered. Jim Chepponis, Music Director for the Diocese of Pittsburgh, sings for the major diocesan events at St. Paul s Cathedral. There are openings in the soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections. In addition to being good singers, members must be capable sight-readers due to a limited rehearsal schedule, and at least 18 years of age. It s been our tradition for the last few years to have a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Swissvale. Those who are not able to process are asked to stay in church and pray. The procession will be followed by a banquet in the social hall. All are welcome.
