First Baptist Church Vision Statement The First Baptist Church is the body of Christ, nurturing all parts of the body within, bringing Christ to others and others to Christ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Church Covenant We, the members of First Baptist Church Bloomfield, having been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, most sincerely and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We pledge, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit: To attend the services of FBC Bloomfield regularly for spiritual nourishment, growth and encouragement: To walk together and watch over one another in Christian love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in times of sickness and difficulty; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation; To contribute cheerfully and regularly, according to our ability, to the support of FBC Bloomfield and its various activities; to support the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world; To strive in our family lives to make Jesus Christ the center of our homes; To cultivate a life of devotion and consecration to God; To aid and assist prayerfully, loyally and affectionately, the ministers and others who seek to strengthen the witness of FBC Bloomfield; To conduct ourselves in accordance with the principles of our Lord, in all our social and business relationships; We enter into this covenant under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, prayerfully asking for Divine guidance and help in this our earnest endeavor.

Welcome to worship! If you are a first-time guest, we have a small gift for you; please just ask. We invite all worshipers to sign the black book to help us better minister to you. If you d like a prayer request announced, please use an orange card from your pew and place it in the offering plate. Guests, your presence is a gift to us; please feel no pressure to participate in the offering. Celebration of Generosity Enclosed in the bulletin is a card giving you an Opportunity to Respond to our Celebration of Generosity. There are two parts: one for you to keep, and one for you to give. The part you give in a box in the Narthex on or after Sunday, October 7 will be entirely anonymous. It is simply an opportunity for you to physically respond to what the Lord is laying on your heart. The part you keep is for your own reference and prayer. The box in the Narthex will be available through Sunday, November 18. Please do not put cash or checks in the box. Offerings will continue to be received as normal during Sunday worship services throughout 2019. World Mission Offering Silent Auction - November On October 28, Marc Kirchoff will be visiting our church to help promote the World Mission Offering. We will be receiving the offering during November. We will also be conducting a silent auction at our Annual Love Feast (Thanksgiving Church Supper) to raise awareness, excitement, and interest in the offering. Everyone is encouraged to support the auction by offering services, handmade items, etc. There will be more details at a later date, but in the meantime, be creative. We appreciate everyone s effort to raise funds for this important mission. There will be forms on the library counter to fill out for items or services to be auctioned. Love Feast November 4 You are invited to join us for a time of fellowship on November 4 @ 6:00pm in the Christian Life Center. The Social Committee will provide meat and drinks. Please bring a side dish or dessert. They are needed and appreciated. White Christmas Food Baskets If you, or someone you know, could use a food basket this Christmas, please contact the church office and speak to Brenda. Any family in our service area (zip codes: 47424, 47457, 47439, 47449, 47453 and 47522) regardless of employment or income level, is eligible Registration for the boxes ends on November 9, 2018. Distribution will be Saturday, December 15 from 9-11am in the Fellowship Hall.

White Christmas Donations White Christmas envelopes have been placed in the pew pockets. If you would like to donate to this program, please use the White Christmas envelopes in the pew pockets or, if writing a check, put White Christmas on the memo line and place it in the offering plate. The Food Pantry Committee will use the donations to purchase food items to provide Christmas breakfast and dinner to families in need. We re HOW OLD? Guess what? Do you know what is significant for our church in the year 2019? You guessed it. It will be our 150th Anniversary. A group of people met this past week and discussed ideas for the 150th Anniversary Celebration. It doesn t matter if you have been attending here for a few weeks, a few years, or several years, we will be asking for suggestions and your help for the celebration. But right now, I want to ask each of you come up with a THEME for the 150th Anniversary Celebration. And yes, there will even be some sort of a prize! (Might be able to dig into the archives and find one of those Bible tote bags that we used to give out.) So, please give this some thought about who we have been, who we are, and what the future might hold for us as God s people for the next 150 years and put it into a theme. Please turn in all of your ideas to Kathy Ham or the church office by Sunday, October 28th. (It doesn t matter your age to submit a suggestion for the theme.) This is a friendly contest with the committee determining the winning theme. Thanks in advance for your help!! Now, put on those thinking caps! Your name: A great theme for our 150th Anniversary Celebration would be:
