Today s privacy laws do not permit hospitals to contact churches when a patient needs a pastoral visit. We are made aware of it only when the individual or their friends and family contact us. We are also not always aware of parishioners that are homebound and would desire a pastoral visit. St Francis Family Groups will be having their September meeting on Sunday, September 9 th after 8:30 Mass. There will be a potluck and quick meeting. We welcome all members. We will be discussing the Brisket Dinner and having a quick meeting. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 30 th for St Francis Family, Fun and Fellowship. We will be having a Smoked Brisket Dinner with all the fixings after 10:30 Mass (Please note Mass time change ). We will also be having a Football Board, Cake Walk, Country Store, Face Painting, Tattoos (temporary), and craft table. We will be needing decorated cakes for the cake walk so start your planning! Mexican Night Saturday September 15th 2018 Join us for a celebration of Mexico's Independence following the 7 PM Spanish Mass in Murdock. All Are Welcome. Come, enjoy Mexican food and culture! Bring a dish to share if you would like but is not necessary. PACK A BOX OF JOY for needy children. This might be their only Christmas gift, while some have never received a gift. Last year St. Isidore the Farmer AFC was very generous and this project was so successful, sending 122 boxes. You are invited to participate in the Box of Joy Christmas project to share the joy of Christmas with needy children in Haiti and Central America. Plan ahead to fill your box(es) with school supplies, small toys, bar soap, hygiene items (no liquids), etc. A complete list will be published in September. Boxes will be available by October 1 and will need to be submitted by October 28. This is a CrossCatholic Outreach project sponsored by Sacred Heart Catholic United Financial Council #362. LeVoir has granted a partial indulgence for all Catholics who visit the Schoenstatt Jubilee Family Shrine in Sleepy Eye, MN. The shrine is located at 27762 County Road 27, Sleepy Eye. In addition to the shrine visit, one must have sacramentally confessed one s sins, have received the Holy Eucharist, and have prayed for the intentions of Pope Francis. If one or more of these conditions are not able to be fulfilled on the day of this visit, it may be fulfilled within several days before or after the visit to the shrine. Appleton/Milan Elementary is excited about our award from Minnesota Reading Corps for the 2018-2019 school year. We can hire tutors to work in our building to provide extra reading practice for students next year. Tutors will work with students in Kindergarten through third grade.
