Our nation has been richly blessed, and we thank You for the necessities of life that so many of us enjoy in abundance. May we never take these gifts for granted or forget that they come from You, the Creator and Author of Life. We pray for those among us who suffer as a result of material, spiritual or moral poverty. Enkindle in us a greater charity toward our neighbor in need, and help us as a people to build a more just and peaceful society and world. We pray in a special way for those who are persecuted for their faith throughout the globe. Thank you, Father, for all Your blessings, In the Name of Christ Our Lord. Amen.
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE NOVEMBER 22, 2015 PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY Please join us for our next meeting on Monday, November 23rd, at 1PM in the lower church. So Pilate said to him, Then you are a king? Jesus answered, You say I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice. - Jn 18:37 Homebound Visit St. Gabriel Parish has Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who will bring Holy Communion to our parishioners who are homebound, due to illness or injury, on a temporary or long term basis. Ms. Maureen Fernandes chairs this ministry and is happy to meet with and train new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who may have an interest in becoming a member of this ministry. For more information to become involved in this important ministry, or to make arrangements for a homebound visit, you or a family member or guardian/friend can simply contact the Parish Rectory Office. GABRIEL S GIVING TREE November 28 th to December 13 th We are pleased to welcome the assistance of parishioner, Dolores McGuinness, to help coordinate this year s Giving Tree project. Since we feel you are all angels in disguise, Dolores has generously used her time and talent to create beautiful angel ornaments for you to take along with gift tag and it is a gift to you to keep the angel for your tree! This annual Christmas project is held in conjunction with St. Michael s Church in North Hartford. Again, if you would like to participate, please take a tag from the tree, buy and wrap the (specified) gift for the child whose gender/age is written on the tag, then tape that tag to your wrapped gift and bring it back to Church. All gifts must be received by December 13 th so that they may be picked up by a member of St. Michael Parish for distribution. We are very happy to help to provide a Merry Christmas for these special youngsters.
