THE YAJNAS ALL THROUGH THE AGES 9 WRITTEN FEBRUARY 2014 2014 THE YAJNAS

ageless through the ages (U&I No. 108) You and I, we were like two fish swimming through a sea of darkness. In a flash, light shattered across the boundless sea, lifting away the darkness and forming an aura around your majestic beauty. We spent unfathomable heartbeats, sailing across that sea, until we found this life-worthy world, amongst the debris of this barely formed universe. For even in the doubts we d cast, I knew I knew from the start, there was only, you and I. And from the start, there was only, you and I. All seeing, seeing it all, looking back as I may, nothing else mattered, as we shed our scales, through the balance of loss and gain. As we rose from the sea, the evolution of our being, brought warmth and love to the harshness that surrounded. Soon land became fertile, and all that grew, bended and bowed at your presence. In the fiction of the day, we took comfort. Like our love, everything was grander than it s age. In the awe of untouched land, we roamed speechlessly Expressing our feelings without speak, of what we had created. Rebirth in the night It was déjà vu for you and I. For in a flash, we were two spirits yet again entwined. As darkness reigned across the sky, ash flew and fell back to the ground. Sparing nothing of its wrath. You and I fell beneath the sea. We waited ever so patiently for the light to once again shine. And when it did, our spirits raged like the flames surrounding a phoenix as it rises from the ashes. In flight, on foot, and under sea, all that survived was you and I You and I. So, tirelessly we spent every moment awake, building back the world that we knew. 1

ageless through the ages (U&I No. 108) As you and I, silently sailed through this Universe, on our new found home, a world of wonder. We rebuilt the chain of life, visualization of all our emotions in their rawest form. A chain of life, which could never be broken, except by the might of you and I. Once again, we came ashore to a brand new world. With every wave, we said goodbye to all that was, and hello to a vast new canvas, upon which to flourish. You and I A wave of love, bringing life and colour to the world. Under the Sun, you and I knew, our time had come. We made a home from the offering. Took physical form, and labored the land. With time came progression, thoughts, ideas, and a realization, that of all we had created, the mind was the most dangerous. Barefoot through stone and sand, you and I walked the path of sea and land. Mind over matter, and distance over time We reached fertile lands, from where grew a harvest, that took us to places beyond any that we d dreamed. You and I, through valleys low and mountains high, across rivers wide and the deepest of seas. All the while, planting the seeds of our common unity. There was no stopping us and the length of our reach. From the warmth of the south, to the promise of the Far East, as hopes of catching the Sun as it rose, faded We went to the crackling cold of the north, from where, lands further than we d known, could be seen. Throwing caution to the wind, our souls went east. You and I went west, to complete the circle of life, that started so long ago, in human infancy. With time, no matter where we were, you and I found ourselves in rapid evolution. We began manipulating the land and sea, to negate our inabilities. Creating routes of trade and systems of barter, we were no longer held to our inadequacies. 2

ageless through the ages (U&I No. 108) We realized then, that there were infinite possibilities. You and I rejoiced in our discoveries. We could compound and breakdown It was the power of primitive alchemy, and forever there within, would lay our fingerprints, fossilized at the foundation of the human story. Yet, at our height, we knew that we would not be, had it not been for the Sun, which nurtured and nourished. You and I broke ground and raised monuments, to show the scale of our love and the sense of our fear, in hopes that day would always come after the night. The soul sets to shed skin, of all that was in the day. For all that was in the night, was you and I. Manmade fires that would slowly burn out, scattered across a fading horizon. The smoke from which vanished into a sky, where distant stars shimmered. No distance, no space, no time Only you and I. The day would dawn and with it bring an am age of empires. Our communes overthrown by kingdoms, hierarchies of power, bound dreams and desires. Held under thumb, you and I escaped our creation, and exchanged it yet again for unequivocal freedoms. Crusades which once again took us to far off places. We d form new routes of trade and travel, through desert and jungle. Through life and death were laid the promises, that with generations, we would be held between the races. The holiest of messages, carried in book and blood. You and I Our distinctions noticeable on varying faces. Through the dark ages, you held me close. Bringing us warmth, and light from a candle that you protected as if it were a child; ensuring it would never burn out. For even when we found ourselves under the darkest of clouds, you and I persisted through the storm of change. And though the storms of history brought change, leaving much of our civilization buried underground... 3

ageless through the ages (U&I No. 108) Your grip was never tighter, than as when they tried to drive us back to the sea. In you, I could see all the disappointment that had become of ours. You and I had no choice but to be the pillar that outlasted the calamity. In stride and with time, you took the pain and turned it into a new day. A fleet of ships, you and I set sail to find the treasures of old. We stumbled upon the new world, and made round what was flat. With knowledge and wisdom, we colonized and made news the world over. Once again we soared across the sky, like two birds circumnavigating the globe. In the age of discovery Our golden days Never did we foresee the wars between our own. From innovations of advancement to the atom bomb, the wheels had come off, long before you and I realized. We waged the wars, and found that the glory of victory, was the only way we could sustain and grow. Love without war would only lead to depression, for which you and I had no willingness to see the conclusion. We fought through the decades, only to find a compounding strain. For all that we created Corruption, greed, and tyranny, were never thought to befall our fate. You and I, just idle spectators, to all that would bring upon this cancerous state. Through it all, we held on. You and I, took the abuse and moved on, by finding strength in the hurt. You and I, collapsed distance with a spin of the web. Brought together the old and the new, broke down the barriers and made whole, the wide world. We bridged the gap and closed the divide, Which once kept you and I apart. And I, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Even though we are not at the end yet, and undoubtedly there will be fires to come, but no matter the ensuing result there will always be you and I. 4
