lord s prayer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844 1908), adapt. George Black This setting Lord s Prayer is new to this worshiping community. It comes from a setting The Divine Liturgy Saint John Chrysostom composed in 1883 by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Originally to be sung in Church Slavonic, it is here adapted for singing in English by George Black. Representative nineteenth-century Russian Orthodox liturgical music, which is always sung unaccompanied, this setting soars when all congregants sing in 4-part harmony as able. We will sing it at 11 a.m. Sunday Eucharist service throughout Incarnation Cycle (Advent through Epiphany-tide.)
