Matthew 7:7-8, New International For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 1

Matthew 7:9-11, New International Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 2

Matthew 7:12, New International So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. 3

Matthew 7:13-14, New International Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. 4

Matthew 7:15-16a, New International Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. 5

Matthew 7:16b-18, New International Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 6

Matthew 7:19-20, New International Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 7

Matthew 7:21, New International Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 8

Matthew 7:22-23, New International Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! 9

Matthew 7:24, New International Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 10

Matthew 7:25, New International The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 11

Matthew 7:26-27, New International But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. 12

Matthew 7:28-29, New International When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. 13

Matthew 8:27 New International (NIV) The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" 14

Matthew 9:33 New International (NIV) And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel." 15

Luke 4:36 New International (NIV) All the people were amazed and said to each other, "What is this teaching? With authority and power he gives orders to evil spirits and they come out!" 16

Matthew 13:54 New International (NIV) Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked. 17

Matthew 15:31 New International (NIV) The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel. 18

Mark 2:12 New International (NIV) [The man who had been paralyzed for 38 years] got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!" 19

Mark 5:20 New International (NIV) So the man [who had been delivered from a legion of demons] went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed. 20

John 3:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB) "Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 21
