Gifts are due to the church office on the morning of December 16th or you can have them sent directly to Greer Relief. Questions? Contact Betsy Turnbull, 293-2382 / etturnbull83@gmail.com Stevie Greene, 616-7430 / steviecgreene@yahoo.com Greer Relief, 202 Victoria Street, Greer SC 29651 Two Vital Metrics for Our Church We are nearing the end of this year s campaign to fund the church s ministry in 2019. We continue to urge all our members and friends to communicate their intent to support our ministry, and to pledge a specific financial commitment. Your pledging allows our Session to budget accurately and wisely, allocating the available resources toward the most vital needs. We are grateful for all of those who have pledged their financial support for 2019, and we pray for many more such commitments, so that John Knox can offer the fullest possible ministry in Christ s name.

As I think about this annual effort and what it means, I recognize two numbers that rise in importance above all the others. Predictably, one important number is dollars pledged. While our ministry goes far beyond mere financial valuation, there is an unavoidable financial cost to what we do. The funds you offer God through the church help to provide the staffing, materials, and experiences by which we grow in faith and serve God in the world. We will use faithfully every dollar committed to Christ s ministry. The more money that is committed, the more of our ministry plans we will be able to fulfill. But as important as that dollar figure is, it is not the most important number. The most significant measure is the number of pledges received. Simply put, this measure tells us who is in. It is a measure of commitment and connectedness a sign of whether we are claiming together the ministry to which God calls us. Just imagine the impact if every member and friend of John Knox committed together to provide the fullest possible ministry we could offer the world! Are you in? Will you join us? God has called us all to enjoy the abundant life of God s grace. Can you help us live out that life and share it with others? Faithfully yours, Stewardship Progress Report 2019 Pledge Cards Received: 158 2019 Pledge Card Value: $715,434 Percent of pledge goal: 66% Young at Heart Please join YAH's for the Service of Lessons and Carols presented by the Furman University Chamber Choir and Chamber Alumni Choir on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Charles E.
