BOOTCAMP Apostle Jacquelyn F. Fedor WALKING IN THE SPIRIT IS BEING OBEDIENT TO SPIRITUAL LAW Galatians 5:16 tells us to walk in the Spirit so we can stop fulfilling the lusts of the flesh. What is walking in the Spirit? Walking in the Spirit is walking at all times in God s Kingdom. We know the Kingdom is in our hearts. So then, all that we do, say, or think should be done through the Kingdom principles and spiritual laws that are written there. Let s look at an example. * Example When we get up in the morning in this soulish realm, we make the necessary adjustments to exist in that day. For instance, if it is cold we wear heavy clothes, if it s raining we dress appropriately and carry an umbrella. Well, if it s a new day in God s Kingdom, are we making the needed adjustments, or are we grumpy and uncomfortable? Could it be that our discomfort is because we can t see the Kingdom day to prepare? We see the day in this realm, but the Kingdom day is out of our sight, but it has its effects on us anyway. We may feel edgy, depressed and then find ourselves looking back in our past to what we experienced back then that 1

made us feel this way today. Could it be that the enemy is attacking our health and finances, but we don t see them. We will always look to this realm for answers when we don t walk in the Spirit. You see, the spirit realm can see the soulish realm, but the soulish realm cannot see the spirit realm. We must ask ourselves, who directs our hearts, the spirit or the soul? The Spirit will instruct our spirit man, not our soul man as to what is happening in the Kingdom day. * Example The spirit gets up, says good morning to Father. It s always nice in God s Kingdom, so the spirit s disposition is happy. He is praising God. Oh, by the way, it s raining in the soul realm: cover your body, but it s a beautiful day in God s Kingdom. This is a day the Lord has made. How many have ever seen a mirage? Heat on a cement highway looks like there is water on the road. When you see it, it looks very real from a distance, but when you get up close it disappears. Our eyes trick us. Our soulish eyes that is. This world as we see it, like the mirage, is not real, but our soulish eyes are convinced it is. But how many believe the Bible tells the truth? Turn to Second Corinthians 4:18. 2 Cor. 4:18 2

18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. Proof of this realm not being a reality is seen in the life of Jesus. With soulish eyes they saw Him in this world when He chose to manifest here, but they could only see Him in the Kingdom when their spirit eyes were opened. Luke 24:30 31 30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him and He vanished from their sight. Again, Jesus could be seen in this realm if He chose. He was here to soulish eyes, but He was not from here, not was this realm in His heart. He visited this realm to accomplish His mission for humanity. When we are born again it should be no different for us. We walk according to a different set of rules. Our principles are different from the world s, our laws are much different from the world. In the world, for instance, people cheat one another, live together unmarried, seek the 3

pleasures this world has to offer, do not even consider the laws of God or His desires. We are different, or should be! We must look for our relaxation in things that don t break God s principles, His morals, or His law. His law should govern our relationships. Our lifestyle is to be one that we do not mind Jesus seeing everything we are doing. We have His Spirit in us, so when we deliberately do things that taint us, do we really think the Spirit of God, who has no sin, stays in us? We still work in the gifts, people like this say! Sure, the gifting we were born with remains, but what spirit is it that operates through them? We may be very perceptive for instance, but that s exactly how psychics work too. The spiritual law concerning this is very simple: an evil tree cannot produce good fruit. If what we are doing is wrong, we cannot expect victory and smooth sailing in the rest of our life. Our sin allows a crack the enemy comes right through. If you re a part of a body, like your personal family or church family, they are exposed to the enemy also. It s a law. God says: Separate from the unclean things, and a little leaven spoils the whole lump. Law! So, the victory for us as individuals and for the church will be gained as we learn not to break spiritual laws. Spiritual laws operate and work, whether we want to walk in them or obey them or not. Our ignoring them makes no difference. They go right on working for us, or against us. It s our choice. 4

God changes not, and neither do His spiritual laws, as both He and His laws were are and will always be perfect. They work for us if we obey them, but guarantee failure for us if we ignore or break them. Let's look at a spiritual law that we just talked about. Turn to Matthew 7:17 18. Matt 7:17 18 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Think of some examples of how we can apply this law to our lives. Here is a neat thing to think about. If we walk in the spiritual laws natural laws or physical laws have no hold over us. Let me show you an example. Turn to Matthew 17: 19. Matt 17:19 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, Why could we not cast him out? Jesus cast out a demon that His disciples could not get rid of, and they wanted to know why. He said in verse 20, if we have faith as a tiny little mustard seed, nothing, it says nothing will be impossible for us. Jesus had this kind of faith 5

and the knowledge to believe the spiritual law connected to it. Now, if we have the faith and are aware of the law as Jesus was, look what we could do. Turn to Matthew 14:22. Matt 14:22 31 22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea (he overcame physical law). 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost! And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid. 28 And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. 29 So He said, Come. And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked 6

on the water to go to Jesus (He did not fear and so had the faith to overcome physical law also). 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, Lord, save me! 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? He broke the spiritual law of faith by doubting, so he failed. But he for a little while defeated the physical law. He walked on water. Jesus told Peter he could do it. Isa 55:11 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Jesus walked through walls, rose from the dead, caused others to raise from death. Now look at John 14 verse 12. John 14:12 7

12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. If we have faith in spiritual laws, which the promises of God in the Word are law, as God keeps His promises, then we can expect to do more than Jesus did. His ministry lasted only three years, and there was only one of Him. We are many and we as a rule have a longer lifetime to serve. Physical laws should not hinder our ministry! Physical laws have no bearing on God s Kingdom either. For instance, we may not know what direction to take in our lives. God s Word says: believe the prophets and you will prosper. We know the Apostolic works in all the offices, so in the New Testament God says be obedient to the counsel of your leadership. Who does God say should be the foundation of the church? He sends first Apostles, then Prophets, then teachers to start a new work. Believe their counsel! God says so. A spiritual law. Don t take their counsel and you will fail. Isaiah 44:26 says God backs the counsel of His messengers of counselors. Isa 44:26 26 Who confirms the word of His servant, and performs the counsel of His 8

messengers who says to Jerusalem, You shall be inhabited, to the cities of Judah, You shall be built, and I will raise up her waste places; Does it have to make sense to our soulish minds? No! We know God is not bound to this soulish realm and its limitations. We won t be either if we are obedient to His spiritual laws. IN CLOSING As we continue in Bootcamp we will gain the confidence to believe in the Word, for truly it is the law. We will learn, through the gifting of the Holy Spirit, to see what is invisible in this realm, hear the inaudible, etc. by walking in the Spirit. 9
