Confession of Faith Isaiah 65:17-24 Minister: Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more. All: Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed. Minister: They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. All: They will not toil in vain or bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the LORD, they and their descendants with them. Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. Song of Praise Jesus, Lover of My Soul Solo: Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to thy bosom fly, While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high. Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till life s storm is past; Safe into the haven guide; receive my soul at last. All: Other refuge have I none, I helpless, hang on thee; Leave, oh, leave me not alone, still support and comfort me. All my trust on thee is stayed, help from thee I bring; Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of thy wing. Thou, O Christ, art all I want, more than all in thee I find; Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind. Just and holy is thy name, I am all unrighteousness; False and full of sin I am; thou, full of truth and grace. Plenteous grace with thee is found, grace to cover all my sin; Let the healing streams abound, make and keep me pure within. Thou of life the fountain art, let me take of thee; Spring thou up within my heart, for all eternity. Public Confession of Sin Minister: Let us confess our sins before our righteous and holy God. All: O Lord and great God, we have preferred the ways of this world to Your ways, for we have rebelled against Your wisdom. We have rejected your loving and tender guidance. We have deceived ourselves into thinking that we have our own righteousness before You. We have wasted our gifts. We have forgotten Your love. We prefer to live in our own darkness rather than flourishing in Your light. Forgive us Lord, and grant a right spirit within us. -2-
Private Confession of Sin Assurance of Pardon In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace. Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Ephesians 1:7, Romans 4:7 Sacrament of Baptism Anna Grace Averitt James Dawson Campbell Daniel Johnathan Crow Richard Henry Litton, II Intercessory and Offertory Prayer Ruling Elder, Mr. Chris Floyd Musical Offering *Scripture Reading Revelation 21-22 21 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, Behold, I am making all things new. Also he said, Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true. 22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, 25 and its gates will never be shut by day and there will be no night there. 26 They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. 27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life. 22 1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. 6 And he said to me, These words are trustworthy and true. *Hymn of Response We Will Glorify We will glorify the King of Kings, we will glorify the Lamb. We will glorify the Lord of Lords who is the Great I Am. Lord Jehovah reigns in majesty, we will bow before His throne. We will worship Him in righteousness, we will worship Him alone. He is Lord of Heaven, Lord of Earth, He is Lord of all who live. He is Lord above the universe, all praise to Him we give. Hallelujah to the King of Kings, hallelujah to the Lamb! Hallelujah to the Lord of Lords, who is the Great I Am. Words of Institution Rev. Carlton Wynne The Lord s Table All those who trust in Christ alone for their salvation, are baptized, and belong to a Bible believing church are invited to partake of the Lord s Supper together, feeding on the grace of God by faith. If you have not put your trust in Christ, please allow the elements to pass you by and take this opportunity to meditate on the meaning of the Gospel. A word to parents: Baptized children are invited to the table after they have made a profession of faith and been received as communing members by the Session of the church to which their parents belong. Please hold the bread, and we will partake together. Please drink the cup as you receive it. During the bread Speak, O Lord GETTY AND TOWNEND Solo: Speak, O Lord, as we come to You to receive the food of Your holy Word. Take Your truth, plant it deep in us; shape and fashion us in Your likeness, That the light of Christ might be seen today in our acts of love and our deeds of faith. Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us all Your purposes, for Your glory. All: Teach us, Lord full obedience, holy reverence, true humility. Test our thoughts and our attitudes in the radiance of Your purity. Cause our faith to rise, cause our eyes to see Your majestic love and authority. Words of power that can never fail; Let their truth prevail over unbelief. Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds; help us grasp the heights of Your plan for us. Truths unchanged from the dawn of time that will echo down through eternity. And by grace we ll stand on Your promises, and by faith we ll walk as You walk with us. Speak, O Lord, 'til Your church is built and the earth is filled with Your glory. Prayer of Thanksgiving During the cup Instrumental - 4-

These studies will be based on select chapters from D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones book of sermons, entitled Spiritual Depression: Its Causes and Cure. Class meets in room 12, taught by Ronnie Rowe.
