THE Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6 http://biblos.com/ 1 Corinthians 4: 6 I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us NOT to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. Ephesians 1: 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, Hebrews 4: 14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens. Hebrews 10: 11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a SINGLE SACRIFICE for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 9: 6 These preparations having thus been made, the priests go regularly into the first section, performing their ritual duties, 7 but into the second ONLY THE HIGH PRIEST GOES, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the unintentional sins of the people. Leviticus 16: 1 The LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before the LORD and died, 1 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

2 and the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron your brother not to come at any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat that is on the ark, so that he may not die. For I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat. Ephesians 2: 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 16 and might reconcile us both (Jew and Gentile) to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. 17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. 18 FOR THROUGH HIM we both (Jew and Gentile) HAVE ACCESS in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then (because of his current ministry-context) you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, Ephesians 3: 1 For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles 2 assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God s grace that was given to me for you, 3 how THE MYSTERY was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. 4 WHEN YOU READ THIS, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. 6 THIS MYSTERY IS THAT THE GENTILES ARE FELLOW HEIRS, MEMBERS OF THE SAME BODY, AND PARTAKERS OF THE PROMISE IN CHRIST JESUS THROUGH THE GOSPEL. 7 Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. 8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, 10 SO THAT through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 2 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

11 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 IN WHOM we have boldness AND ACCESS with confidence through our faith in him. Hebrews 4: 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 LET US THEN WITH CONFIDENCE DRAW NEAR TO THE THRONE OF GRACE, that we MAY receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. MAY-Aorist- undefined as to the progress or the completion of the action. Active- represents the subject as acting. Subjunctive- expresses the idea of probable completion of the action of the verb with the possibility of the action of the verb failing to be completed. 17 SO THAT (purpose) Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. May: Aorist- undefined as to the progress or the completion of the action. Passive- represents the subject as acted upon. Subjunctive- expresses the idea of probable completion of the action of the verb with the possibility of the action of the verb failing to be completed 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Galatians 5: 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But IF you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 3 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, AS I WARNED YOU BEFORE, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 BUT the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 IF we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. 1 Corinthians 1: 1 Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our brother Sosthenes, 2 To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours: 3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge 6 even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you 7 so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, (1 John 1: 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.) by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 10 I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. 11 For it has been reported to me by Chloe s people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. 12 What I mean is that each one of you says, "I follow Paul," or "I follow Apollos," or "I follow Cephas," or "I follow Christ." 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not 4 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

know whether I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach THE GOSPEL, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, LEST THE CROSS OF CHRIST BE EMPTIED OF ITS POWER. 18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved IT IS THE POWER OF GOD. being saved: Present- Continuous action in the present represented by by a line (-------------) in the present.passive- represents the subject as acted upon. Participle- contemplates action as real or actual. 19 For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart." 20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 BUT we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 BUT to those who are CALLED, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 SO THAT no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 2: 1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 5 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. Ephesians 3: 10 SO THAT through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood THIS, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Chapter 1: said 23 BUT we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 BUT to those who are CALLED, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 2: 9 But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him" 10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. 14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 6 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

16 "For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ. Colossians 1: 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 2 To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae:Grace to you and peace from God our Father. 3 WE always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 6 which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, 7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf 8 and has made known to US your love in the Spirit. 9 And so, from the day WE heard, WE have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered US from the domain of darkness and transferred US to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom WE have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. 7 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, in order to present- (parastēsai-to appear, stand beside) Aorist- undefined as to the progress or the completion of the action. Active- represents the subject as acting. Infinitive- The infinitive implies the action a potential, or possibly. 23 IF indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. 24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 THE MYSTERY hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in (en) you, the hope of glory. en (a preposition) properly, in (inside, within); (figuratively) "in the realm (sphere) of," as in the condition (state) in which something operates from the inside (within). 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that WE may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me. 1 Timothy 1: 19 holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, 20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme. 8 The Mystery of The ONE Body Part 6

1 Corinthians 5: 1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father s wife. 5 you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. Hebrews 9: 11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) 12 he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. 15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, SO THAT THOSE WHO ARE CALLED MAY RECEIVE the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
