The Rosary for Peace A Daily Deotion The Sisters of Charity of New York inite you to join us as we pray the Rosary for peace. By praying as a community, we can let this special meditation become a foundation of charity and peace for ourseles, those around us, and ultimately, the entire world.

The Rosary is also a prayer for peace because of the fruits of charity which it produces. Preparatory Prayer O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection has secured for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech you, that, while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary, of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. The Apostles Creed I beliee in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaen and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceied by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended in to hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaen, sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the liing and the dead. I beliee in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgieness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life eerlasting. Amen. Our Father Our Father, Who art in heaen, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaen. Gie us this day our daily bread; and forgie us our trespasses, as we forgie those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but delier us from eil. Amen. - Pope John Paul II, Rosarium, Virginis Mariae, 10/16/02 Hail Mary Hail, Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Glory be to the Father Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and eer shall be, world without end. Amen. Hail! Holy Queen Hail! Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope, to you do we cry, poor banished children of Ee; to you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this alley of tears; turn, then, most gracious Adocate, your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement! O loing! O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Indulgences A plenary indulgence is granted, if the Rosary is recited in a church or public oratory or in a family group, a religious Community or pious Association; a partial indulgence is granted in other circumstances.

For two centuries the Sisters of Charity of New York hae been joyfully sharing Christ with those liing in eery kind of poerty, in hospitals, schools, parishes, child and social welfare agencies, and in many other ministries. Today we, Sisters and Associates, find new ways to bring peace, loe, and justice into the lies of those we sere through the kindness of our benefactors. In the tradition of our foundress, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, we are deeply committed to liing out the Gospel as we respond creatiely to the signs of the times. We must pray literally without ceasing... in eery occurrence of our lies_... that prayer of the heart which is independent of place or situation. It is a habit of lifting up the heart to God, as in a constant communication with him. - Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton (1774 1821) Sisters of Charity Center 6301 Rierdale Aenue Bronx, NY 10471-1093 718.549.9200 fax 718.884.3013 www.scny.org
