Mary Lou Wilkins CHILDREN AND YOUTH MINISTRIES TLC NEEDS VOLUNTEERS! The Little Children Program begins in September and we desperately need more teacher and helper volunteers. Prayerfully consider this opportunity to help grow the faith of some of our youngest members. Contact Mary Carol Brouwer at 780-0084. CLASSES BEGIN: The Little Children, our program for our 2 through 4 year olds, begins on Sept 7. Parents may bring their children to their classes before the start of the worship service. TLC and Worship Center classes will begin regular programming on September 14, and our Church School year will also begin on September 14. September 14 and 21 will be Intergenerational Church School sessions, and then we will break into separate classrooms beginning September 28.

MEETINGS, ACTIVITIES, AND EVENTS Remember to send your favorite scripture passage to Pastor Rebecca. Forms are on the Information Desk. VOLUNTEER RENEWAL FORMS: All persons who are involved in ministries at Calvin that involve children or youth are requested to complete a yearly Worker Renewal Form. If this is your first year volunteering at Calvin with children or youth, please complete a Youth Ministry Volunteer Application. To satisfy insurance requirements, each volunteer needs to complete a Youth Ministry Volunteer Application initially, then a Renewal Form each following year, as well as attend a Policy Review session every other year. Worker Renewal Forms were placed in boxes. If you do not volunteer in any of our child or youth ministries, you may return the form to the Information Desk and we will recycle. Thank you, congregation, for volunteering and for your promise to receive these children in love, pray for them, and help instruct them in the faith! HEALTH SAFETY & ABUSE-PREVENTION POLICY REVIEW SESSIONS: Policy Review sessions will be held September 7 and 14, 9:15 AM in Room 16. Reviews also occur as a part of our parent meetings for our 78ERS and CYG programs. The Health, Safety and Abuse-Prevention Policy is available for your yearly review. Copies can be checked out from the Information Desk, as well as from the Office. Electronic copies are also available by contacting Char Bulthuis or Kim Bultsma, office secretary. PARTICIPATION/RELEASE FORMS: All children and youth ages 2 nd grade through 12 th grade must have a Participation/Release form for 2014/15 on file. Each family needs only to complete one form, listing all the children on that form. Completed forms may be turned in to Char Bulthuis mailbox or to the Safety Policy box near the staff mail boxes ASAP. Extra forms can be picked up at the Information Desk. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Church School: We are seeking one more teacher to join the current teacher for our 3 rd /4 th grade church school class. We use team teaching; two teachers work together to cover class times throughout the school year. If interested, please contact Char Bulthuis. Nursery: We are seeking additional Nursery Supervisors who can join in a nursery coverage rotation once every four or five weeks. Please contact Char Bulthuis or Kim Wierenga if you are interested. Cadets: We are seeking a male volunteer to assist in the Cadet program which meets two Wednesday nights per month.

FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROJECT: Our Eastown and Clark Retirement Community neighbors have both commented very positively on our proposed project and sent letters of endorsement for the Grand Rapids Planning Commission review. Architectural and engineering work is in process to address details with a view toward fall construction start-up. Thanks to those who have made gifts and payments on your commitments. For clarity of recording, please be sure your gifts to the Family Assistance Project are plainly marked so they are not confused with ongoing program support for Family Assistance. Those wishing to make gifts of appreciated securities may contact Linda Westbrook in Paul Veltman's office at 774-2281 or linda.westbrook@raymondjames.com.
