Women s Ministry Self Defense Class Saturday, June 23rd at 10:00am. Ladies, please join us for a self defense class. You do not need to bring anything, just wear comfortable clothes. This event is open to all ladies, rising 6th graders and up. We will have light snacks and drinks. Sign up Sunday using the tear-off in your bulletin or at the table in the foyer. 2018 Mission Trip to Uganda HPC will be sending a team to Kiroba Community Presbyterian Church in Uganda this September. The team will leave the afternoon of September 21st and return home on September 30th. The main focus of the trip will be encouraging spiritual growth in this mission church. No special skills are required to join the team as long as you are willing to pray and share your testimony (training in doing so is available). The team will do door to door evangelism, visit in the homes of church members, hold a bible conference, and worship with our sister church in Uganda. Ability to teach men, women, or children will be very helpful. We are especially looking for people to train potential deacons and elders. If you have ever wanted to get more practice in sharing the gospel, this is a great opportunity to do so with a very receptive audience. We will be having a preparation meeting immediately after the service next Sunday, June 10th. If you think you may want to join the team or would like more information, please contact J. D. Bonner at (423) 240-5891 or jdb@completeeyecare.org as soon as possible.

The May Hit the Trail Event was a hike at Chickamauga Battlefield. The Grand Finale of our first year will be the troop trip to Patriot s Point in Charleston, SC, June 1-3. The boys will sleep onboard the WWII Aircraft Carrier Yorktown. Our monthly meetings will resume the first week of August. Thanks to the wonderful people of HPC for your encouragement and support this past year in so many ways. Summer Sunday School & Wednesdays at HPC Sunday School Coming Up this Summer The Gospel of John June 3rd through August 12th In the beginning was the Word The gospel of John has always been a rich study as many of the most familiar sayings of Christ are contained in the blessed pages of this gospel narrative. This summer we will embark on an eleven-week study of the gospel of John as taught by Floyd Richardson. Please make plans to attend during the Sunday school hour (9:30 till 10:30 AM) in room M1. Women s Sunday School June 3rd through July 29th Gospel Centered Life by Bob Thune and Will Walker will enable us to discuss and explore how the gospel is life changing. Lessons are self-contained with no homework. Women of HPC, come journey together with Carolyn Hays during the Sunday school hour (9:30 till 10:30 AM) in room M2. Three Generations Class (20s, 30s, 40s) - Beginning June 3rd. This class will study the book, Uncomfortable by Brett McCracken and will be facilitated by Thomas DeMoss in the conference room. Summer Connection Wednesday Nights through the Summer (6:30-7:45) Led by Pastors Robert & Greg This is a great way to stay connected over the summer and dig deeper into the sermons. This Small Group will meet at the church for fellowship and to discuss the sermon from the preceding Sunday. A chance to dig deeper, talk about it and apply it in our lives. Prayer with Pastors Please join us for a time of concerted prayer, Wednesday mornings this summer, June through July, from 7:00-7:45 am in the church sanctuary beginning June 6.

Birthdays June Birthdays Building Use Requests Growing Pains: We need to put some procedures in place in order to: better schedule the many events going on in the life of the church so that we can avoid conflicts and other logistical problems; give proper notice to those serving us by setting and resetting rooms and providing for our technology needs; protect our worship space and equipment. Therefore, we can no longer reserve a room or put an event on the church calendar unless a Building Use Request Form is completely filled out and turned in to the main office. The Form can be found on the Website under the About Tab, or obtained directly from the Main Office. Filling this out will help us to know what events are being planned, what rooms are being used and what needs you have for set up and technology. We are also asking that unless you have been trained by the church, please refrain from being up in the sound booth at any time. If your ministry has technology needs, please let us know in advance on the Request Form or by contacting Lindsey Pope at 423-635-1257 and we will make sure that your event is covered by someone who is trained. If you or someone from your ministry is interested in being trained, please contact Lindsey Pope at the above number and we will set up a training session. Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation as we try to serve ALL our ministries better. 1 - Billie Alexander & Anna Hutchings 2 - Jonathan Jackson 4 - Vicki Suttle, Denese Crowder, David Hamblen, & Ariana Payne 5 - Steve Lewis & Brenna Cooper 6 - Aaron Self 7 - Nancy Amberson 8 - Brianna Parker 9 - Justin Fitzpatrick & Marshall Harris 10 - Mary Bean & Haley Halabrin 12 - Stephanie Hutchings & Dylan Loftin Anniversaries 15 - Hannah Stimart & Liam Stoddard 16 - Warren Parker 18 - Josh Hamblen 20 - Emily Armstrong & Katherine Carver 21 - Marcia Swearingen 29 - Eowyn Stoddard & Caroline Gentry 23 - Savannah Brown 24 - Jon Hoppe & Janet Bales 30 - Donald Carver June Anniversaries 3 - Mike & Jennie Landreth 4 - John & Penny Freeman 5 - Charles & Katlin Hodges 6 - Buddy & Trishia Kemp and Aaron & Michelle Self 7 - Norman & Marilyn Lampe 9 - Ron & Janet Bales 10 - Bill & Regenia Pratt and Tom & Eunice Vechinski and Gary & Vicki Suttle 11 - Robert & Lynne Johnson and Tom & Rhea North 12 - Rob & Linda Brown and Jim & Marcia Swearingen 14 - Bob & Marie Marlin 17 - Joe & Bev Fitzpatrick 18 - Bruce & Terri Jones 19 - J.D. & Paula Bonner, Smith & Cheryl Cutter, Wayne & Karen Kohlmann and Donald & Cheryl Carver, and Ryan & Kristin Bode 21 - Rick & Jan Purdy and Earl & Caryn Kretzschmar 27 - Adam & Meghan Griffith 28 - Kurt & Jill Chambless and John & Mary Seneker 29 - Brad & Paula Card *Those in Italics are our missionaries.
