1 Stude U Wasatch Mountain Chapter, SDC Volume XXV Number 05 May 2018 Studebakerdrivers.net President s Letter Hooray! It looks like spring is finally here. Thanks to all of you who attended the April breakfast. And, thanks to Harvey and Gloria Simons and Linda Nation for the great job they did for our pizza party and the tour to Lakeside Storage, I've never seen so many old gas signs and pumps in one place before. There were also a couple of old Studebakers. If my count is correct we had seven Studes in the Pizza Pie Cafe parking lot. This included a great looking bermuda brown 1964 Daytona two-door hardtop that belongs to our newest members, Ron and Maisa Simpson. They've been members of SDC since the 1980's and it's nice to have them in our chapter. Welcome aboard! As a closing note, it's a sure sign of spring when gas prices start to rise. My neighborhood Maverik had regular gas at $2.96 on Sunday the 22nd. I was going to fill-up the Daytona but decided to wait until Monday. Bad decision as it was $3.09 then. Ever notice how quick it goes up and how slow it comes down? Look forward to seeing you in May at breakfast and at the art show in Fairview. Upcoming Events May 5, 2018: Membership Breakfast Meeting @ Golden Corral, 655 East Fort Union Blvd., Midvale, UT. 9:30 a.m. May 12, 2018: Lunch at Home Plate and Art Show at Fairview Museum, Fairview, UT Host: Diana Compton, 435-427-3946. 2 April 7, 2018 Breakfast Meeting Golden Corral Note: Marjeen and Linda were out of town so they asked me to take the minutes, which I did. What they didn t tell me to do was to hang on to them. Somewhere along the line, they have disappeared so I m trying to get as much info in as I can remember. If I left something out, I don t wanna know (lol). Alice The month started as the song says with April Showers bring.. It was soggy and we didn t have many Studes out yet. Members in attendance were Bruce Linger and Doris Gabbitas; Alice Fisher; Harvey and Gloria Simon; Terry and Janell Overturf; Raymond and Diana Compton; Jan Brunvand; Eddy Julius; Fred Ball; Barbara Varner; Darius and Leslee Gray; Wayne and Barbara Fullmer; David Mark; Elisabeth Walker; and Gale Nation. Terry welcomed members and introduced first order of business: new Club shirts and sweatshirts. The Club has found a vendor who will not require a set number of items before starting our order. We will be able to order just as many as we want and no more. Sheets with the different colors available were passed around and members wrote their choices on the back. Gale Nation won the 50/50 and the Drive Your Stude.
