VOICE PARTS: Narrator ONE 10 parts Narrator TWO 10 parts Pharaoh 9 parts (small one or two liners) Moses 14 parts (Largest part) Voice of Yahweh 5 parts Pharaoh Servant 1 (tiny one line part) Pharaoh Servant 2 (small one line part) THE TEN PLAGUES OF EGYPT SCENE 1 Water to Blood River Scene 5 Puppets: Pharaoh, Moses, Aaron, Narrators NARRATOR ONE - Part 1: (Record as 1 part) Shalom friends! We are going to tell you how Yahweh brought ten plagues to Pharaoh and the Egyptians to deliver them out of Egypt. Now, the children of Israel lived in Egypt for 430 years! Yahweh heard their cries of bondage and He saw their affliction. He sent Moses to go before Pharaoh to bring them out of Egypt. YAHWEH told Moses that the heart of Pharaoh would be heavy and that he will refuse to send the people away. He told Moses to meet Pharaoh by the Nile River.. MOSES Part 1: (Before Pharaoh at the River) So says YAHWEH, By this you shall know that I am YAHWEH: Behold, I am about to strike the water in the river with the staff in My hand, and it shall be turned to blood. And the fish in the river will die, and the river will stink, and the Egyptians will become weary of drinking water from the river. NARRATOR TWO Part 1: Moses, told Aaron, to take his staff, and stretch out his hand over all the waters of Egypt so they would become blood. (RIVER TO BLOOD EFFECT) NARRATOR ONE Part 2: After 7 days, Moses went to Pharaoh SCENE 2 Before Pharaoh Palace Scene MOSES Part 2: (before Pharaoh) So says YAHWEH, Send away My people that they may serve Me. If you refuse to send them away, behold, I am about to smite all your territory with frogs. SCENE 3 Frogs Palace Scene PHARAOH Part 1: (FROGS EVERYWHERE EFFECT) Moses, Aaron, Pray to YAHWEH that He may remove the frogs from me and from my people. And I will send away the people that they may sacrifice to YAHWEH. MOSES Part 3: According to your word, so that you may know that none is like YAHWEH our Elohim. The frogs will depart from you. NARRATOR T WO Part 2: Moses cried to YAHWEH concerning the frogs and the frogs died. They gathered them in heaps and heaps; and the land stunk. Pharaoh saw that there was relief and he made his heart heavy. He did not listen to them, as YAHWEH had said. 1

SCENE 4 Lice Egypt Scene (Cattle in field) 3 Puppets: Moses, Aaron, Narrator 1 VOICE OF YAHWEH Part 1: Moses, Say to Aaron, Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, and let it become lice in all the land of Egypt. NARRATOR ONE Part 3: Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the earth. The lice were on man and on beast. Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as YAHWEH had said. (LICE EFFECT) SCENE 5 Flies Egypt Scene MOSES Part 4: (before Pharaoh) Record as one part So says YAHWEH, Send away My people that they may serve Me. And if you do not send away My people, behold, I am about to send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and on your house. In that day I will separate the land of Goshen with My people resting on it, that there be no swarms of flies, so that you may know that I am YAHWEH in the midst of the earth. NARRATOR TWO Part 3: YAHWEH did so. Swarms of flies came into Pharaoh's house, and the house of his servants, and into all the land of Egypt. And the land was destroyed before the swarms of flies. Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron. (FLIES EFFECT) PHARAOH Part 2: Go! Sacrifice to your Elohim in the land. SCENE 6 Moses and Aaron before Pharaoh Palace Scene MOSES Part 5: It is not right to do so, if we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not stone us? We will go into the wilderness, a journey of three days, and sacrifice to YAHWEH our Elohim. PHARAOH Part 3: I will send you away, and you may sacrifice to YAHWEH your Elohim in the wilderness; only do not go very far off. And pray for me. MOSES Part 6: Behold, I am about to go out from you, and pray to YAHWEH. The swarms of flies will depart from Pharaoh, and from his servants, and from his people tomorrow. But do not continue to deceive, not to send the people to sacrifice to YAHWEH. NARRATOR ONE Part 4: Moses went out from Pharaoh and he prayed to YAHWEH. YAHWEH did according to the word of Moses, and the swarms of flies departed and not one was left. AGAIN, Pharaoh made his heart heavy, and he did not send away the people. (END Flie Effect) 2

SCENE 7 Pestilence Field Scene (with livestock) MOSES Part 7: So says YAHWEH, Send away My people that they may serve Me. If you refuse to send away, and you still hold onto them, behold the hand of YAHWEH is going to be on all your livestock in the field. A very heavy pestilence. YAHWEH will make a distinction between Israel's livestock and Egypt's livestock. Also of all that belongs to the sons of Israel, not a thing will die. NARRATOR TWO Part 4: YAHWEH did this thing on the next day, and all the livestock of Egypt died. From the livestock of the sons of Israel, not one died. Not even one was dead from Israel's livestock! Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not send away the people. (PESTILENCE EFFECT) SCENE 8 Boils Field Scene VOICE OF YAHWEH Part 2: Moses and Aaron, Take for yourselves the fullness of your hands of soot from the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven before Pharaoh's eyes. Let it become dust on all the land of Egypt, and let it become boils breaking out into sores on man and on livestock in all the land of Egypt. NARRATOR ONE Part 5: So Moses and Aaron did as Yahweh said and stood before Pharaoh. It became a boil breaking out into sores on man and on livestock. YAHWEH made heavy Pharaoh's heart, and he did not listen to them. (BOILS on PHARAOH EFFECT) SCENE 9 Hail mixed with Fire Palace Scene MOSES Part 8: (Record all as 1 Part with pause between sections) Before Pharaoh So says YAHWEH, Send away My people that they may serve Me. For at this time I am going to send all My plagues to your heart, and on your servants, and on your people, so that you may know that none is like Me in all the land. For now I have sent forth My hand and have stricken you and your people with pestilence, and you have been destroyed from the earth. For this reason I have made you stand, in order to cause you to see My power, and in order to declare My name in all the land. (PAUSE) Behold! I will rain very heavy hail about this time tomorrow, such as has never been in Egypt from the day of its foundation until now. Bring your livestock to safety, and all belonging to you in the field. All men and livestock found in the field, and not brought to the house, the hail will come on them, and they will die. NARRATOR TWO Part 5: Moses stretched out his staff to the heavens. And YAHWEH gave sounds and hail. Fire came down to the earth, and YAHWEH rained hail on the land of Egypt. The hail struck in all the land of Egypt, all that was in the field, from men and to livestock. The hail struck every plant of the field, and it broke in pieces every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel lived, there was no hail. (HAIL, FIRE, THUNDER EFFECT) 3

SCENE 10 Moses before Pharaoh Palace Scene PHARAOH Part 4: (to Moses) I have sinned this time. YAHWEH is the righteous One, and I and my people the wicked ones. Pray to YAHWEH and let it be enough of the thunders and hail of Elohim. I will send you away and you shall not continue any longer. MOSES Part 9: As I go out of the city I will spread out my hands to YAHWEH. The thunder will cease, and the hail will not still be, so that you may know that the earth belongs to YAHWEH. As for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear before YAHWEH Elohim. NARRATOR ONE Part 6: Moses went out from Pharaoh, from the city, and he spread out his hands to YAHWEH. The thunder and the hail stopped. Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had stopped, and he continued to sin. Pharaoh's heart was made strong, and he did not send away the sons of Israel, as YAHWEH had said by the hand of Moses. So, Moses and Aaron went before Pharaoh. (END HAIL EFFECTS) SCENE 11 Before Pharaoh Palace Scene 6 Puppets: Pharaoh, Moses, Aaron, Servants 1 & 2, Narrator 2 MOSES Part 10: (before Pharaoh) So says YAHWEH, Until when will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Send away My people so that they may serve Me. For if you refuse to send away My people, behold, I am going to bring locusts into your territory tomorrow. They will cover the eye of the land, and no one will be able to see the land. And they will eat the rest of that which escaped, that which is left to you from the hail. And they will eat every tree that sprouts to you from the field. (EXIT Moses and Aaron) PHARAOH SERVANT 1 Only Part: (before Pharaoh) How long shall this one be a snare to us? PHARAOH SERVANT 2 Only Part: Send away the men that they may serve YAHWEH their Elohim. Do you not yet know that Egypt is perishing? NARRATOR TWO Part 6: So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. (EXIT Servants) PHARAOH Part 5: (to Moses) Go, serve YAHWEH your Elohim. Who and who are the ones going? MOSES Part 11: (Record sections as one part with pause) We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters. We will go with our flocks and with our herds. For it is a feast of YAHWEH to us. (PAUSE) May YAHWEH be so with you, as I send you away, and your little ones. Watch! For evil is before your face. PHARAOH Part 6: Not so! You and the men go now and serve YAHWEH; for you were seeking it. 4

SCENE 12 Locusts Field Scene 2 Puppets: Moses, Aaron, Narrator 2 VOICE OF YAHWEH Part 3: Moses, Stretch out your hand for the locusts over the land of Egypt, so that they may go up on the land of Egypt and may eat every plant of the land, all that the hail left. NARRATOR ONE Part 7: Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt. And YAHWEH brought an east wind on the land all that day and all that night. At morning the east wind lifted up the locusts. The locusts went up over ALL the land of Egypt. Never were there locusts like them before, and afterward, none will be like them! (LOCUSTS EFFECT) NARRATOR TWO Part 7: They covered the eye of the earth, and the land became dark. They ate every plant of the land, and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. No greenness was left in the trees and in the plants of the field in all the land of Egypt. SCENE 13 Before Pharaoh Palace Scene PHARAOH Part 7: I have sinned against YAHWEH your Elohim and against you. Pray forgive my sins only this time, and pray to YAHWEH your Elohim that He may take away from me this death only. NARRATOR ONE Part 8: He went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to YAHWEH. YAHWEH changed to a west wind, very strong. And it carried the locusts and threw them into the Sea of Reeds. Not one locust was left in all the territory of Egypt. YAHWEH made strong the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not send away the sons of Israel. (END LOCUSTS EFFECT) SCENE 14 3 Days of Darkness Egypt Scene 2 Puppets: Moses, Narrator 2 Use extra puppets as Egyptians stumbling in dark VOICE OF YAHWEH Part 4: Moses, Stretch out your hand to the heavens so that darkness may be on the land of Egypt, and one may feel darkness. NARRATOR TWO Part 8: Moses stretched out his hand to the heavens, and darkness of gloom was in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see each one his brother, and they did not rise up, each one from his place for three days. Yet to all the sons of Israel there was light in their dwellings. (DARKNESS EFFECT pitch dark with only eyes of puppets to glow in dark?) SCENE 15 Before Pharaoh - Palace Scene PHARAOH Part 8: (to Moses) Go, serve YAHWEH. Only leave your flocks and your herds behind. Your little ones may go with you. 5

MOSES Part 12: You must also give into our hands sacrifices and burnt offerings so that we may prepare for YAHWEH our Elohim. Also our livestock shall go with us. For we shall take from them to serve YAHWEH our Elohim. NARRATOR ONE Part 9: YAHWEH made strong the heart of Pharaoh, and he was not willing to send them away. PHARAOH Part 9: Go away from me. Be careful for yourself. Do not see my face again, for in the day you see my face you shall die. MOSES Part 13: You have spoken rightly. I will NOT see your face again! SCENE 17 Death of Firstborn - Goshen Puppets: Moses, Aaron, Puppet extras VOICE OF YAHWEH Part 5: MOSES, I will bring yet one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. Afterward he will send you from here. When he sends you away completely, surely He will drive you out from here. Now speak in the ears of the people, and let them ask, each man from his neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold. MOSES Part 14: (to the people of Israel) So says YAHWEH, About the middle of the night I will go out in the midst of Egypt. Every first-born in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first-born of Pharaoh, the one sitting on his throne, to the first-born of the slave-girl who is behind the mill; and every first born of animals. A great cry shall be in all the land of Egypt, such as never has been, and nothing like it shall be again. SCENE 18 FINAL SCENE Goshen Doorposts painted 2 Puppets: Narrator 1 and Narrator 2 NARRATOR TWO Part 9: Moses and Aaron did all these miracles before Pharaoh. And YAHWEH hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not send away the sons of Israel from his land. NARRATOR ONE Part 10: So, Yahweh told Moses and Aaron that the congregation of Israel should mark their doorposts with lamb's blood so that Yahweh could 'pass over' their houses and spare them from the final plague. No one was to go out of his house until morning. He was going to pass through in the land of Egypt in this night and strike every first-born in the land of Egypt, from man even to livestock. They ate with their loins girded, sandals on their feet, and staff in their hand. This was the Passover to YAHWEH. NARRATOR TWO Part 10: It happened at midnight. YAHWEH struck every first-born in the land of Egypt. (EFFECT of Death Striking) (CRIES HEARD EVERYWHERE EFFECT) 6

Pharaoh arose by night, he and all his servants, and all the Egyptians. A great cry was heard in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not a one who had died. Pharaoh sent a proclamation and told Moses to go out with his people with their flocks and their herds. Halelluyah!!! At last, Yahweh delivered the children of Israel and they were set free from the hand of Pharaoh and from their slavery in Egypt. From here they began their journey into the wildnerness! Shalom and Yahweh bless, children!! ************************************************************************************************* 7
