Mission Training Essentials for New HNI School Luke Weaver, Director of Gateway House of Prayer As we enter 2016, we find ourselves living in an information age that is unparalleled. Google and the web direct us to destinations, answer our questions, and even help us find our marriage partner. We must pause and ask ourselves: What is the fruit of this increased information? Has it produced better, more noble people? Has it produced positive world influencers? Perhaps we should not look at the present for the keys to true knowledge and understanding but rather to the ancient path. Jesus came with a global mission to reconcile the world to God. He entrusted His plan of salvation and the execution of His eternal purposes to a small group of followers, common people, mostly comprised of uneducated fishermen. What were the keys to His training that transformed these ordinary people into the most revolutionary and influential movers and shakers of all of history? He didn t enroll them in the most prominent synagogue of their time, prescribe a rigorous reading plan of ancient writings, or have them take an IQ or personality test to ensure a quality outcome. The original commission is still unfulfilled, and if we intend to see it accomplished, we would do well to study the methods of Jesus. If we want to produce the results that He did, we should engage in the process that He did. He called them to give everything and surrender their lives for a greater purpose, one far beyond themselves. He appointed them to be with Him. Intimacy was the context in which information became revelation. He modeled through His lifestyle everything that was being taught. He sent them out to represent the culture of the kingdom through preaching and demonstrations of power. He called them to live in a committed community as the primary context for true character development and the proving grounds for authentic love. HarvestNET is passionate about the fulfillment of the Great Commission and is committed to building a mission training school based on these essential principles used by Jesus. We will value not only information but also immediate impartation and application. True knowledge is authenticated when information is applied and experience is gained. The harvest is ripe. Join us this fall to win for the Lamb the reward of His suffering!

Kingdom Perspectives LEARNING TO PRESENT THE GOSPEL AS JESUS INTENDED: IN LOVE, AUTHORITY & SIGNS AND WONDERS Barry Wissler, President of HarvestNET International We are very excited about what we sense God is birthing in a new school of supernatural ministry and missions through HarvestNET. The urgency of the harvest requires a new approach to the training and sending of apostolic bands to carry the Gospel of the Kingdom. God is preparing launch pads to do this all over the world as the harvest is ripe. The gospel of Mark said Jesus chose His disciples so that they could be with Him and so that he could send them out to preach and to cast out demons. (Mark 6:7) Luke added He gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases and sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom and to heal. (Luke 9:1-2). The disciples learned the principles of the Kingdom by being with Jesus. He taught them but not within the confines of a classroom. Much of the learning was hands-on, which reinforced His teaching through experience. For more than a thousand years, the only way that the church prepared leaders and Kingdom workers was by using this simple relational method of discipleship. Emerging leaders were shaped in a community of others who were learning and were guided by apostolic leaders who carried a vision to multiply workers. This model changed around 1100 AD with a movement called Scholasticism, which turned the attention of the medieval world toward the academy and Aristotelian logic. While much good came from the development of the university, what was lost for Christianity was the kind of experiential preparation needed to take the Gospel of the Kingdom into the world with signs and wonders. As a result, our attempts to fulfill the great commission have been limited by a lack of faith and power. The church of today prepares people to serve God by giving them information. Somehow we got the idea that if people know what is true, they will automatically share their faith effectively. But the early church turned the world upside down by introducing others to Jesus through encounters with a living God, not simply by presenting facts. The twelve disciples made other disciples who made other disciples, and the Gospel of the Kingdom was carried for centuries in the same way that Jesus first brought it. But we see an urgent need for change. HarvestNET will open a new school this year, which will focus on the kind of learning that Jesus demonstrated and commanded us to replicate. A community of prayer will provide a setting where students experience and encounter God in a transformative way. The students will be taught in a traditional way, but they will also be sent out for experiential learning. This will build confidence and faith in the hearts of students. The goal is the transformation of the individual, not just the distribution of information. Stay connected for more information about the school. This will be an intensive, full-time, and life-changing program with concrete opportunity for placement directly into Kingdom work here in the U.S. or in other nations upon completion. Contact me or Luke Weaver directly with questions to be placed on a list of interested students (lukeweaver@gatewayprayer.com). 3

LIFEWAY CHURCH PLANT Lifeway Church, an Ephrata Community Church plant, launched on September 20, 2015 in the Regal Cinemas Great Escapes at the Lebanon Valley Mall. With a launch team of 77 people, we prayed and sought God to move in our region. On launch day, Lifeway welcomed 249 people in attendance from the surrounding community. In the first four months, we are celebrating 38 spiritual births, as 38 people have responded to the gospel of Christ and asked Jesus to be Lord of their lives! The community at Lifeway is an amazing team of people who love God, serve people, and are impacting lives for eternity. We would love for you to join us in that mission. Our worship services are at 10 a.m. every Sunday. We are located at 2200 Lebanon Valley Mall, Lebanon, PA 17042. THRESHOLD CHURCH LEADERSHIP TRANSITION Threshold Church, a HarvestNET church planted in February of 2009, is excited to announce a leadership transition that will happen in March. Jake Kail, who has served as an Associate Pastor and Executive Pastor for the past three years, will be installed as the new Senior Pastor. Jeff & Christine Nolt Jeff Nolt has served as the Senior Pastor since Threshold s inception. Under Jeff s leadership over the past seven years, Threshold grew from a home Bible study into a vibrant church body that is passionate for prayer and worship, is making disciples, and offers genuine community and fellowship. Jake & Anna Kail Over a year ago, Jeff and his wife, Christine, sensed that it was time for Jeff to step down from the Senior Pastor role. Through a discernment process, Jake was selected to step into the position. Jeff will remain a vital part of the church body and continue on the leadership team as an elder. Threshold Church meets for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM at Penn Manor High School (100 East Cottage Ave., Millersville, PA 17551). WESTCLIFFE COMMUNITY CHURCH LEADERSHIP TRANSITION After nineteen years of serving in Westcliffe, Colorado, Dan and Kim Dovidio have transitioned their family back to Pennsylvania. The Dovidios moved to Westcliffe, Colorado in December 1996. On Easter Sunday 1998, the Dovidios conducted their first church service under the banner of Westcliffe Community Church. Dan s final service as senior pastor was on August 30, 2015, in which he turned the role over to WCC s associate pastor Rev. Brad Reinke. Pastor Brad joined the WCC team in 2010 when he and his family, along with his counseling ministry Whole Families Incorporated, relocated from Nebraska to the Wet Mountain Valley. In 2009, Dan took his first missions trip to the Philippine Islands. It was there that the Dovidios and WCC found a new international field of service. Since that first trip, Dan and Kim have been involved extensively in youth discipleship programs, food/medical outreaches, along with conducting pastor and leadership conferences. In 2013, Dan began representing HNI in the Philippines and has seen a steady interest and growth in HNI. Currently, HNI has over 100 partner churches and ministries in the Philippines. The next trip for the Dovidios is scheduled for September 2016 for the 3rd Annual HNI Leadership Summit.

2016 HNI MINISTRY TRIPS For many years, Cheryl and I have been taking people with us to witness what God is doing in other nations. These trips are life-changing, as we engage in the global expansion of the Kingdom. In many of these countries, we have witnessed miracles, vibrant worship, and a general acceleration of the work of the Holy Spirit. Christianity is growing faster in many other nations than it is growing in the U.S. Our spiritual perspective has broadened as we continually experience a bigger picture of what God is doing in the world. We ve also found that time spent with others on a trip gives us memorable and deeply meaningful fellowship with our teammates. Why don t you consider joining us on one of our upcoming trips this year? PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC Dates: May 27- June 5, 2016 Cost: $2,000* Deadline for application: April 1, 2016 This trip begins with a day in Prague, the Golden City, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. USA SUMMIT NOVEMBER 16-18, 2016 GUYANA OCTOBER 27-31, 2016 EUROPE SUMMIT MARCH 7-11, 2016 PRAGUE MAY 27 - JUNE 5, 2016 PHILIPPINES SUMMIT SEPTEMBER 24 - OCTOBER 2, 2016 PARTNERSHIP IN INDIA India is a nation of over 1.2 billion people, expected to surpass China by 2025 with the world s largest population. India is a place of primary focus for HarvestNET as we are already seeing an increased harvest in that nation and anticipate even greater growth in coming years. We currently work with six Apostolic leaders in India, each with their own network of churches and ministries. Barry and Cheryl traveled to India in February, along with Wayne Kaufman and Barth Bailey, to meet with these six individuals. Each of the leaders invited a few other key leaders to a retreat held in Bangalore. During their visit, Barry and the team also held pastors conferences and a business seminar.
