Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation; O sing, all ye citizens of heaven above! Glory to God, all glory in the highest; Refrain Child, for us sinners poor and in the manger, We would embrace Thee, with love and awe; Who would not love Thee, loving us so dearly? Refrain A Shepherd s Tale Our children Narration While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks While shepherds watched their flocks by night All seated on the ground The angel of the Lord came down And glory shone around, and glory shone around Fear not! said he; for mighty dread Had seized their troubled minds Glad tidings of great joy I bring To you and all mankind, to you and all mankind To you in David s house this day Is born of David s line The Savior who is Christ the Lord And this shall be the sign, and this shall be the sign: The heavenly babe you there shall find To human view displayed All meanly wrapped in swaddling bands And in a manger laid, and in a manger laid.

All glory be to God on high And to the earth be peace Good will henceforth from God to man Begin and never cease, begin and never cease! Rejoice Scene 1 All Night, All Day Scene 2 Angels Are Rejoicing Scene 3 Away In a Manger Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head, The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay, The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes. I love you, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky, And stay by my side until morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask you to stay Close by me for ever, and love me, I pray. Bless all the dear children in your tender care, And fit us for heaven, to live with you there. Scene 4 Angels We Have Heard On High (vs. 1, 2, 3) Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o er the plain And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strain

Chorus Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be? Which inspire your heavenly songs? Chorus Come to Bethlehem and see Christ Whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee, Christ, the Lord, the newborn King. Chorus Scene 5 O Come Let Us Adore Scene 6 Immanuel, Immanuel Scene 7 Joyful, Joyful Medley Narration We Three Kings (vs. 1, 2, & 5) We three kings of Orient are; Bearing gifts we traverse afar, Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star.

Refrain O star of wonder, star of light, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light. Born a King on Bethlehem s plain Gold I bring to crown Him again, King forever, ceasing never, Over us all to reign. Refrain Glorious now behold Him arise; King and God and sacrifice; Alleluia, Alleluia, Sounds through the earth and skies. Refrain Scene 8 Happy Hallelujah Christmas Song Narration Lighting of the Candles Please keep the lighted candle upright, and tip the unlit candle to the lighted one. Cup the flame when blowing out the candle. Silent Night Silent night, holy night, All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin mother and Child. Holy Infant, so tender and mild,

Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night, holy night, Shepherds quake at the sight; Glories stream from heaven afar, Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia! Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born! Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love s pure light; Radiant beams from Thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth. Silent night, holy night Wondrous star, lend thy light; With the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King; Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born! (Please extinguish candles.) *Joy to the World Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And Heaven and nature sing, And Heaven and nature sing, And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns! Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy. No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as, the curse is found. He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders, of His love. Closing Prayer David Kalas Postlude Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella (Keith Chapman) Your Christmas offering may be left in the offering baskets at the side and back of the Sanctuary as you leave this evening. A Year Without Fear A Note from Pastor David Where the Gospel Begins The angels who appeared to the shepherds in the night sky over Bethlehem brought good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. It was the gospel message about the Savior, which is Christ the Lord. But the very first thing that the angels said to those shepherds was fear not! That is the first word of the gospel message. The Lord comes to us and finds fearful. So the Christmas carol says, From our fears and sins release us, let us find our rest in Thee. And He does, indeed, set us free from fear. What we hear and sing at Christmas will be our theme all year during 2018. A Year without Fear will be our theme, as Pastor David provides daily devotionals to explore the human experience of fear and the freedom from fear that God provides. If you would like to participate in this year-long devotional study, please complete the registration below and return to the church office. Name: Address: Phone: Email:
