VISA PROCEDURE A valid passport & entry visa are required to enter Comoros. Each participant will be charged 30 Euros (15 000 KMF) on arrival to Moroni International Airport for visa fees. TRANSPORTATION FOR PARTICIPANTS Transfers from Airport to official hotels will be provided by ANRTIC. Please note that taxis do not accept credit card payments. Moroni Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport to Moroni city is about 22km (By car: travel time is 30mn). PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION The officially recommended hotels are located close to the event venue. Transportation from hotels to the Workshop venue will be assured by ANRTIC. CURRENCY The official currency of Comoros is KMF. Visa, American Express, and Access/MasterCard, can also be used. Banks are opened from Monday till Friday, from 8.30 to 14.30. The exchange current rates in Moroni are about: Dollar Euro KMF ( 446.4) KMF (491.9) CLIMATE The weather in April is hot and cloudy (tropical climate). Approximate temperatures will vary between 30 and 32 C.
SECURITY The crime rate in Moroni is very low. However, visitors are advised to observe common safety practices while travelling (e.g. storing valuables in a safe, keeping wallets in a secure pocket, etc.). SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR PARTICIPANTS DURING THE WORKSHOP Information display: It will be located outside the main Workshop room and will provide information on many issues of interest of the participants and will forward to other services, such as city tours and transfers, mail, medical care, communications, etc. It will also be the place where you should deliver or collect lost items. Communication Center: Internet Access, free of charge, will be available at the event room. Security: For security reasons, all participants should always wear their badges during the Workshop. Medical Assistance: It is advised to take out international travel insurance to cover any medical expenses in case of medical treatment.
