We will pray the rosary to honor the Blessed Mother. After the rosary, we will gather in the Parish Hall for light refreshments and further instructions on how we can place Mary at the heart of our prayer and devotion. Through Mary, we will draw closer to Jesus, learning how to become a saint. Join us. Everyone is welcome.

DECEMBER 2, 2018 From today s Gospel reading: Jesus said to his disciples: The power of the heavens will be shaken. Reflection: The apocalyptic language of today s gospel depicts the collapse of all that seems so fixed sun, moon and the stars. A once-thought secure world is not as secure as we thought. So, we ask ourselves: -What and on whom have we relied for security and hope in times of crisis? -Have these been supportive and sustaining? OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CELEBRATION The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas, will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 12. All parishioners are invited to participate in this special celebration that will begin with the recitation of the rosary at 5:00pm, procession of the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 5:30pm and Mass at 6:00pm. Following the mass, there will be a fiesta celebration in the social hall. Come join our Latino brothers and sisters as together we experience and are blessed by the cultural richness of this celebration honoring our Blessed Mother. SIMBANG GABI CELEBRATION Our Filipino Community invites you to join them for a special celebration of Simbang Gabi on Monday, December 17. Simbang Gabi literally means going to the church at night. It is a special devotional tradition of celebrating mass each of the nine days before Christmas in preparation for the birth of Jesus. This celebration honors the role of Mary in the incarnation and focuses on Jesus, who took on human flesh to save us. Our evening begins with Mass at 6:00pm, followed by dinner and a time of fellowship in the Parish Hall. We invite you to please bring a gift of non-perishable food to our liturgy that will be given to St. Vincent de Paul. In addition, for the dinner after Mass, we ask you to please bring a vegetable salad or dessert to share. NEW BREAKING BREAD SONG BOOKS Our 2019 Songbooks are now in the pews. We are requesting the cooperation of all our parishioners in insuring that our songbooks are available throughout the year to support the prayer of all who gather together for worship: -Please do not remove any songbooks from the pews or take them home. For every book that is taken, one less parishioner is able to fully participate in the singing. -Please do not fold over the pages in the books to mark your places. This damages the pages. -Please do not tear pages out of the books, this means that someone else cannot participate if the pages are missing. Thank you for your cooperation! CHARITY FUND COLLECTION Next weekend we take up our Advent collection to support the Charity Fund of our parish. The monies for the fund come from the loose change that we put into the collection baskets each week and from the checks and cash placed in pink Charity Fund envelopes that are found in the pew racks. Your contributions enable us to reach out to the poor and needy in our parish and the larger community in the Bremerton and Central Kitsap areas. We provide monthly support to over one dozen non-profit organizations such as St Vincent de Paul Society, Pregnancy Resource Center, Kitsap Rescue Mission, Bremerton & Central Kitsap Foodline and Kitsap Community Resources, to name a few. We are only able to provide this support through the donations we make to the fund. The needs are great and your contribution will make a positive difference in this holiday season and all year through. Thank you for your generosity. ANGEL TREE GIFT RETURN Please return your Angel Tree gifts to the Social Hall on December 1 & 2 and December 8 & 9. ALL GIFTS MUST BE RETURNED BY DECEMBER 12. Thank you and God bless you for your generosity.
