* Community building & Outreach (Chris, Libby, Pedro, Joe) * Parish-School Link & Youth Activities (Jude, Mary, Judy, Hans) Main focus at present is the Lenten programme and a parish mission in early May. And ongoing support for liturgy and lifting the liturgy to something more vibrant * Fr Toms report Well received. Beating heart always needs strengthening... * Trevor Powell Music report. Music group, choir steadily progressing. Support good one night, not so good the next. Desire to continue with a music group that will involve singing instraments, cantors.. Worried about the lack of involvement from younger people, e.g. senior students from St Joseph's take on as a ministry to continue for the rest of their lives. * Report little company of Mary No comments or questions * Tuesday prayer group No comments or questions * Meals on Wheels Scope for more helpers with this. * Church service at Annie Brydon Mrs Ingram asked if anyone else can help out e.g. leading the service, handing out leaflets, reading etc. Only ½hr on 3 rd thursday each month. Trevor mentioned also 'talking with residents' and addedthese elderly need visiting. The people we do have are starting to get elderly and struggle despite the great job they do. Don't touch Mrs Martilitti's garden though! * Formation ministry/baptism report. No comments or questions. * Prayer circle very strong MOTION: Moved that the Liturgy ministry gather together all the ministers of the eucharist to refresh them on the procedures they should follow when ministering in the church, and be reminded of the roles and responsibilities, and that they be

People ring up and ask to be put on the list. * Chris - Family mass good to see more families coming along to these masses * Parish Office report by Patrea Rosters - Need more people involved e.g cleaning. Anne Haughton was surprised re the Copyright on music that has to be accounted for, we take the music for granted. Patrea explained how it works. Trevor mentioned he has copyright on some of our music and doesn't get any royalties from the Australian outfit that collects copyright fees. Should be sorted out. Mrs Whittington mention Trinity roster? need more people for communion to the sick. Fr Tom mentioned that Trinity has a weekly mass, so do we need to take it on a Sunday? Dorothea says it's difficult taking communion to Trinity on Sundays as they're all over the place. Fr Tom mentioned the staff at Trinity say those that want communion on Sundays are taken to the Chapel. Need to address issue with communion to the sick, various opinions on this. Donations exceeded $50,000 very active society in our community * Bev asked about the Mid winter christmas party for the elderly? Chris said it's on the

agenda to discuss * Jude report from school spirit filled boost between he school and parish working in harmony with parish, masses visits to classes, morning teas... everyone welcome in Presbytary pushing things up hill with religious education and commitment. Great spirit filled direction from Fr Tom * GENERAL BUSINESS * Freda and her team, Lena and her team be given special thank you for their work in the gardens at St Joseph's and Sacred Heart Manaia * Fr Tom idea baptism baskets instead of baby baskets to support belonging to the parish. Celebrate Birth into the church. Trevor defined what baptism is. * Bryan mentioned the Parish would like to join with the school re Catholiscim course * Freda subject of readers. Had a tradition dating from Fr O'Sullivans time that the readers had to come on a Saturday and practice their reading. Systems have changed and improved since then, but people aren't practicing. Mary mentioned she was unaware she was required to come in a practice. Once again we need to encourage younger readers. MOTION: Moved that the Liturgy committee bring the readers together and remind them of their role in reading which is to proclaim the good news. Have a refresher course for them tips for reading effectively, talk about practicing (at church or at home) Freda/Trevor carried. * Huge Cunningham has been partitioning the showing of 2 movies at Cinema 2 (Gardening with Soul and Antarctica - a year on the ice). Special times of prayer & opportunities.

* Cynthia Collins suggested that the Gloria hymn is disjointed. Wants to go back to the old one, Music changes recently in general aren't good. Trevor explained the new translation is difficult to fit to music. Liturgy committee will look at this as well. * Freda thanked Dee for typing away minutes during meeting :) * Freda thanked the parish council for taking on the challenge... * Dorothea thanked Fr Tom. * Closing prayer Fr Tom: Glory Be Meeting closed at 12.01pm.
